CHAPTER 111 Don't Be Afraid, I'm Behind You

  Three cars rushed through the night.

  The wide asphalt road stretched out before us, with trees along the sides stripped of their leaves, their branches receding into the distance.

  When I was very young, South City was still a small county. In the past ten years, the area around the city had been rapidly developed, and the economy had grown at an astonishing pace. Today, South City was no longer the place I had once known.

  I've always been someone who prefers staying in, especially since my parents' accident. I never had the time or energy to go out much. So, even though I'm from South City, I'm not very familiar with its current state, but for some reason, this stretch of road felt oddly familiar.

  But if I had walked this path before, it must have been years ago.

  We had driven for another twenty minutes or so before stopping. As I got out of the car, I immediately saw a striking neon sign—"Chasing Light Valley."
