"Xander?"
"What's wrong? Surprised to see me?" Xander folded his arms, leaning back with a smug look on his face as he stared at me.
Of course, I was surprised. I had no idea he'd been released. Part of me was relieved, knowing that our efforts hadn't gone to waste, but another part of me had a strong feeling that Xander's freedom would only bring trouble for Lucas.
"Give me my phone."
I reached for it, but Xander raised his hand and slid it into his pocket, then hopped onto his motorcycle. He revved the engine, and before I could react, we were speeding away.
I tried to jump off, but the bike accelerated so quickly that I almost fell off the back. I barely managed to grab onto Xander's jacket to avoid falling.
"Are you crazy?"
I clung to his jacket, the wind howling against my face. I could barely speak with the force of it.
