CHAPTER 70

  Aria's POV

"Knox," I said firmly, with a determination that I didn't know I had in me.

Knox kept his gaze down, avoiding my eyes, as he stood behind his chair at the head of the table.

I pursed my lips for a moment, before I walked towards him with a frown on my face.

"Knox, we need to talk. Honestly, it is hurtful to find out that you don't trust me. How could you make such statements? You called my child – our child, a bastard. You accused me of cheating! That's too low, Knox!" I snapped, and my voice shook, no matter how I tried to keep it steady.

"I'm sorry," Knox mumbled, still not meeting my eyes.

I blinked in surprise, and my mouth opened and closed a few times in shock. "What?"

Knox lifted his head slowly to meet my eyes. His eyes were wet and remorseful. "I shouldn't have said all those things. I'm so sorry."
