CHAPTER 14 You Made The Right Decision

  Nyla POV

Tala drove down the highway at full speed like we were being chased. At this point I knew my safety was paramount, but how could I trust Tala? What if she lied that she wasn't working for Mrs. Mia anymore? What if she was sent? Though Tala saved me, I couldn't trust her. How cruel could Jason's mother be to eliminate me after I was done giving birth to her grandson?

We drove to the countryside and packed by the roadside.

"We all have to make it by foot now," Tala said, and we highlighted from the car and picked up our bags. Tala looked around for any sight of movement, but there was none. The breeze was calm and serene.

We followed behind her back as she walked down a track road.

"Where are we going?" I asked, wondering why she was taking us deep into the woods.

"You will see," she said without looking back. I walked for another twenty minutes before I saw a cabin come into view. It looked like an abandoned old building.
