CHAPTER 58 Raise Our Pup Together

  Neomi POV

"Where will you go?" Jason asked as he watched me pack up my clothes. We got home, and I overheard him defend Nyla again in front of his mother. He truly loved that woman, and here I was thinking we might have a chance.

"That's none of your business," I retorted, his care not sitting pretty well with me. I stuff my things into my bag without any care of even arranging them, probably. Jason is seated at the edge of the bed.

"You know your family doesn't love you," he said to me.

The truth is hurting even deeper.

"You don't have anyhow to go, Neomi," his voice sounded worried. Is he worried about me? I knew the moment that I lost Jason, the day he returned, opting to have a separate room, we grew distant. I thought probably it was because of the stress of staying with Nyla. His voice became more cold, and I couldn't feel him anymore. It was just a brief peek on the forehead and occasionally greetings. Two lovers turned into strangers.
