"Are you okay?" I asked, forcing a tight-lipped smile.
"Yeah, it's just Neomi reminding me of the C-section time." Jason scoffed.
"She's replying nervously." 
I sighed.
"If it were a natural birth…" 
He interrupted me before I could finish. "It's not going to be a natural birth. Neomi and I have already decided, and you agreed to it by signing the contract," he said, his tone firm as I furrowed my brow in frustration.
I didn't need a reminder, the mention of his Luna on his lips made me feel different. A painful reminder that it was just a flirt. Deep within I wanted more, the warmth of my mate around me but it was stolen by Neomi.
I walked over to the dresser, at least, to let me look beautiful for my birth process.
"Oh, right. That's true. I almost managed to forget that I'm just a walking womb that you and your wife have been renting out."

　　"Are you asking me why I came to work?" I stood too shocked at Alan. 


　　I didn't at once think that Alan would do this to me. For all the sacrifices, for all the things he made me do. We have a child together.


　　I was on my way to my mother's office when I heard hushed voices along the hallway. The hallway led to the laboratory, and just a few were allowed me. It was strictly out of bounds. I wanted to ignore Jason arguing with any of the staff, but then I couldn't when I heard a heavy clash. I wanted to know what was going on. I went ahead to find out, only to find Alan arguing with Adrian. It's unusual for him. So I listened to all their conversations.


　　I leaned on the way drained of color when I heard Alan talking about Athena. Tears dripped down my cheek. I thought I had met a man I had feelings for. I was looking after another's family when my own family was slowly dying away right in front of me.
