CHAPTER 138 She's Going To Kill You

  Valerie POV

As I stepped out of the car, I noticed my parents in a tense argument with a woman standing nearby. Their focus shifted to me immediately, as did the gaze of a boy I recognized from a viral video. Who were these people, and why were they speaking to my parents?

I had just been picked up from school and brought to my grandmother's company—an unusual place to find my mother, who rarely left the house. The tension in the air as I approached them made me uneasy.

"Mum! Dad! What's going on?" I asked, confused.

They didn't answer, though I could sense something was wrong, especially given my mother's reaction to the video earlier.

"Let's go home, honey," my dad said, pulling me into a hug.

  "What's happening, Dad?"

"Nothing much, my princess. I'll explain everything later."

I glanced at the woman walking away with the boy, my mother's gaze fixed on her.
