CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE ALIVE

  DAHILA

"I need to find him." I said as I finally summoned courage, "He's not dead. He told me he'd come back to me." He promised and I trust him. There's no way he'd die leaving me all alone.

I wiped off the tears from my face as I reached for my phone, it had been ringing all this time. Gerald was calling, "Dahila, Davis wants to see you. He's at the hospital."

Fuck! "Davis? Davis...wants to...Davis wants to see me."

"He's alive!" I gasped, my breath hitching in my throat. "Gerald, I'm on my way. Tell Davis I'm coming."

I didn't wait for a response, rushing out of the house like a madwoman. My mind was a blur of relief and fear as I raced towards the hospital.

My heart leaped into my throat as I saw him lying there, staring at me, he had been beaten. His face was filled with scars which got me angry and sad at the same time.

I ran into his arms, "I'm here now, stop crying."
