CHAPTER 59 A Night Under the Stars

The mansion felt heavy that evening, as if the weight of its history pressed against the walls, seeping into every corner. Angela could feel it, the unspoken secrets and untamed emotions swirling in the air. She glanced at Edmund, who sat by the fireplace, his jaw tight as he stared into the flames. It wasn't like him to retreat so deeply into his thoughts, and she knew she had to do something to pull him out of the shadows and into the light again.

"Edmund," she said softly, her voice breaking the thick silence. He looked up, his expression unreadable but his eyes softening at the sight of her. "Let's go outside."

Edmund glanced up from his drink, one eyebrow raised. "Outside? At this hour?"

"Yes." She walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "The garden. I'll set it up. I need a break from all this.". No shadows, no burdens, just the stars."
