Aubrey's POV
"What change of leadership?" Henry asked, glaring at his mother as he closed in on us.
I gazed at Aunt Rachel, my eyes narrowing. "What's going on, Aunt Rachel?" I asked, my voice firm.
Aunt Rachel smiled warmly. "Oh, Aubrey, dear, I'm just worried about you. You're carrying so much weight on your shoulders already." Her expression turned concerned. "I just think Aubrey needs a break, don't you think?" She turned to Henry. She's been through so much lately. The weight of Carver's Corp seems too heavy for her."
I felt a surge of unease despite her kind tone. "I'm fine, Aunt Rachel," I said. "I just need some time. I'll adjust."
Aunt Rachel laughed softly. "Nonsense, dear. Just your first day and you've caused such a great disaster already?" She tapped my shoulders gently. "You're exhausted. Maybe Henry can help with decision making for a while? He's been managing the company long before you." Her eyes glinted.
