Dario's POV
"I'm in love with Aubery," I declared, my voice barely above a whisper.
Sophia's eyes widened in shock, her face pale. "You fell in love with her?!" Sophia repeated, her voice trembling.
"I…thought you knew," I stammered.
"Yes, I did, but I wasn't expecting you to say it to my face!" She thundered.
I nodded, feeling a pang of guilt. "I'm sorry, Sophia. I know I shouldn't have said that." I said, trying to hold her hands.
Sophia's expression turned from shock to anger. "You're sorry? You're sorry for falling in love with your ex-wife?"
I took a step forward, trying to calm her down. "Sophia, please understand…"
But she cut me off, her voice rising. "No, I don't want to understand. I want you to understand that I deserve better than someone who is still in love with another woman."
I felt a surge of fear as Sophia turned and walked away. "Sophia, wait!" I called out, but she didn't stop.
