They Will Not Be Eaten Alive By Wolves

Michael and the girls turned around and saw the man with a gun as well. However, it was too late for them to react - the hitman was pulling the trigger as they watched.

"Shit!" Just when Michael Carlito thought he would meet his maker this time, he heard countless gunshots and a blossom of blood burst on the hitman's chest. As the hitman fell onto the ground, the last bullet of his life just missed Michael's body by an inch.

Michael looked around and saw Lina holding a smoking gun. Once she noticed the danger, she picked up one of the guns dropped onto the ground and shot all the bullets towards the hitman. She was just an attorney, not a shooter. Most of her shots did not even get near the hitman, but one particular bullet somehow hit the bullseye, killing him and saving Michael's life one more time.

"Oh my God! I shot him!" Lina dropped the gun and cried out loudly.

Michael Carlito quickly ran over and hugged her. "It's okay. He was a bad guy, and you saved my life again."

That was the first time Lina shot someone. She was clearly in a state of shock, not realizing that she was fully naked in Michael's arms.

Michael himself was without a top. Lina's naked body was pressed on his chest, and suddenly, he had a strange feeling. "What if I could hold her this way until the end of time?" He could feel Lina's nipples and even her pounding heartbeat, which gradually got back to a normal rate.

"Why are you holding me?"

Before Michael could fantasize further, Lina's screams brought him back to reality.

"I'm naked! Get your hands to yourself!" Lina quickly pushed him away after realizing she was in the arms of a semi-naked Michael Carlito.

"Well... I was just trying to..." Michael blushed and tried to explain his action.

"I know what you wanna do! But, can't you let Monica or Rachel hug me instead?" He was somehow interrupted by Lina, who was clearly still upset.

"Nope! We won't hug a hysterical woman." "Yup! We are not as thoughtful as boss." Monica and Rachel replied in unison, both defending their beloved boss. By this time, they had also tied up the two surviving hitmen, making sure they could not cause any harm.

"Alright! Alright! I got your point here! Your boss is a good man! He was just trying to comfort me! Got it! Okay?" Actually, deep inside her heart, Lina knew very well that Michael did the right thing. But she just unconsciously wanted to let go of her frustration. Deeper inside her heart, which she would not admit, she actually felt safe in his arms.

"What the fuck! He is an underworld prince! I'm a decent attorney!" Whenever her mind drifted to a new horizon, these words pulled her back to reality.

"We gotta leave now! The Ciminos will know these guys have been compromised once they delay reporting their findings." As usual, Michael began to give instructions. "Remove their clothes and put them on."

Without any hesitation, Monica and Rachel did as instructed. They stripped the three guys naked, regardless of whether they were dead or alive. There were four of them but only three sets of clothes. Fortunately, unlike the three girls, Michael still had his pants. So, all clothes went to the girls.

Lina really hated to wear a hitman's clothes, but she had no choice. Either she wore whatever was available, or she stayed naked. So, she reluctantly wore the oversized shirt and jeans. If not for the belt, the jeans would have dropped off her at any time.

"What are you gonna do to them?" Lina asked Michael while pointing at the two hitmen who had been tied up on a tree.

"I let them live." Michael shrugged. "I'm not a murderer. And they are just doing their job. Nothing personal, really. Once their team leader finds that they were missing, he would come for them in order to get us. So... they won't be eaten by wild wolves, if that's what you worry about."

"Okay. Good to hear that." Lina nodded. "That's just... well, too many people died in the last one day."

And all these deaths were somehow linked to her reckless driving. She let out a sigh. If only she had used an Uber driver instead of driving her Porsche last night.....

"Alright! Everybody get in the truck! We gotta leave now!" Michael Carlito was definitely not someone who would linger on. He ignited the engine and drove the truck away in less than one minute. Of course, they took all the hitmen's guns with them.

"Boss, how much time do you think we have before another team of hitmen comes after us?" Rachel asked after they got on a hilly road.

"I guess half an hour, tops." Michael replied. "The Ciminos definitely send their most efficient team to blast my head off." He turned around and looked at Lina, who was sitting beside him. "Well, after blasting her head off, I guess. She is now on top of Robert Cimino's kill list."

"Well... now that your plan of faking our deaths has failed, what is next?" Lina was a little annoyed when hearing the way Michael put it. As usual, she challenged him by throwing him a difficult question. "Are you gonna fight back to LA and paint the streets with Cimino blood?"

"Honestly, I am running out of ideas now. But Ms. Connelly, please trust me. I will protect you with my life. Just like how you have saved my life over and over again." Michael's words somehow sounded extremely sincere. "And I will come up with a plan soon."

"It's Lina. Stop calling me by my surname. You are not my client." Lina did not look at him, but her tone had somehow softened.

"Alright, Lina. And you can call me Michael or Mike or Mikey or just M. Whichever you prefer."

"M? No way! We are not in a Bond film, okay?"

"Of course we are not. We are in a gangster film. Like Godfather, just more brutal." Michael laughed out loud.

Lina, though still putting on a poker face, had somehow gotten over her frustration. She leaned back on the seat and seemed to be more relaxed.

Both Monica and Rachel exchanged a glance while nodding their heads. They had noticed the atmosphere had changed, and things seemed to get better between their boss and his savior.

Before they could tease their boss a little, they suddenly heard some noise from the sky getting close.

"Fuck! It's a helicopter!" Rachel cursed loudly. "Here come the Ciminos' hitmen!"
