Chapter 66: Abyssal Plane?!

The assembled students began boarding the Swallowing Sky Roc one by one.

Gu Chen scanned the massive beast. There were nearly a thousand students aboard the Swallowing Sky Roc.

A 98% mortality rate—what did that even mean? It meant that out of these thousand people, only twenty might come back alive, and that number even included those who returned but were already crippled.

"I am Roster, a Rank 91 Titled Douluo, and my martial spirit is the Formation Flag. I am the person in charge here. To prevent you from dying too quickly when we get there, I will now introduce the place you're heading to," said a middle-aged man who looked like a soldier, standing on the Roc's head and looking down at the people below.

Roster's voice instantly grabbed everyone's attention.

"The place we're going to is located in the northernmost region of the Douluo Continent, where the land meets the sea. A century ago, our ancestors discovered something terrifying there—a spatial tunnel. Yes, you heard me right, a spatial tunnel. This tunnel connects to a dimension beyond the Douluo Continent. Our ancestors named it the Abyss," Roster said solemnly.

At first, Gu Chen didn't think much of it. But the moment he heard the words "Abyss," he froze. He quickly asked the system, "System, isn't the Abyssal Plane supposed to appear after the Douluo Continent collides with the Sun-Moon Continent, forming an endless valley at their junction? The collision hasn't even happened yet—why is the Abyss showing up now?!"

Ding!

"Please pay 500 system points to unlock the information."

"Damn scammer!" Gu Chen muttered, pained, and reluctantly paid the points.

Ding!

"The Abyssal Plane's spatial tunnel with the Douluo Continent has always existed. It was just extremely small. After the Douluo Continent collides with the Sun-Moon Continent, the tunnel expands a hundredfold. Right now, only low-level Abyssal creatures can pass through it. The Emperor-level and Saint Lord-level creatures cannot cross the tunnel yet."

What the hell...

"In that plane called the Abyss," Roster continued, "countless Abyssal creatures emerge through the tunnel to kill local inhabitants. They feed on human life and souls—the very embodiment of evil. These creatures once ravaged an area spanning thousands of miles around the tunnel. It was only through relentless purging by the Spirit Hall that we drove them back into the mountainous region where the tunnel lies."

"These Abyssal creatures are nearly impossible to kill. When we destroy them, they turn into a gray mist and return to the spatial tunnel. We suspect that this mist revives them back in the Abyssal Plane. One of our Soul Sages once encountered two identical Abyssal creatures—proof that they can come back from the dead!"

"So far, the Abyssal creatures we've identified include:

Four-clawed bats

Six-clawed bats

Ba'an

Mo Mei

Devour Lizards

Black Sovereigns

Abyssal Bomb Wasps

And the most terrifying of all—Possession Demons"

"We believe there are more Abyssal species, but some are unable to pass through the tunnel for now."

"Four-clawed and six-clawed bats are just that—bat-like creatures. Ba'an is a dragon-like monster. Mo Mei is a humanoid creature, usually appearing as a human woman. Devour Lizards resemble giant lizards. The Black Sovereign is among the most powerful Abyssal creatures, each one equal in strength to a Titled Douluo. If you ever encounter one, the only option is to run."

"Abyssal Bomb Wasps are swarm-type creatures. They always appear in large groups and self-destruct as a form of attack. But even after blowing themselves up, they can be revived. You, however, won't get a second chance. If you see them—run."

"The most terrifying are the Possession Demons. They exist in spiritual form and can possess your body. If you're below Titled Douluo level in spiritual power, you won't stand a chance. Even Titled Douluos must fight with all their might to resist the possession. And while you're resisting, your body becomes immobilized."

"Our Spirit Hall once had four Titled Douluos possessed by Possession Demons. They suddenly turned on us and caused the deaths of six other Titled Douluos. Luckily, we discovered that each Possession Demon can only possess three people in its lifetime, so they are very careful when choosing a host."

With a grim look on his face, Roster finished describing the Abyss and stared at the thousand students below him. "Your mission is to carry one month's worth of rations and water, and enter that valley—a place where no native Douluo creatures exist and only Abyssal creatures roam—and do your best to kill them."

"Once you get there, you'll each receive a kill-counter soul tool. Every time you kill an Abyssal creature, it will record the points based on the creature's strength. You'll use those points to exchange for food, water, and weapons. If you don't have enough points, you won't get any new supplies, even if a month passes. And even if you do have the points, you can only leave the valley to resupply once a month."

Roster had just revealed the cruel truth. This wasn't a training camp—it was a hellish crucible!

This wasn't about cultivating talent. This was about using the Abyssal creatures to forge the strongest survivors—the truly elite.

And being allowed out only once a month meant that over the next 30 days, they wouldn't get a single night of good sleep. They would always be on edge, defending themselves from attacks by Abyssal creatures and other humans, who might try to rob them of their food, water, and points.

"One final reminder," Roster said, a smirk playing on his lips. "Inside that valley, the most terrifying thing , isn't the Abyssal creatures… it's the human heart."

With that, Roster leapt down from the Roc's head and returned to the area where the instructors were gathered to rest.

Meanwhile, chaos broke out among the students. Everyone began frantically discussing the Abyssal Plane and the training camp. The smarter ones had already started looking for teammates.

"This isn't just a battle between students," Gu Yuena said solemnly. "It's a confrontation between the Douluo Plane and the Abyssal Plane." The Dragon God ruled the Douluo Plane for so long, yet even he never discovered the existence of other planes.

It seemed this spatial tunnel had only formed after the Dragon God ascended to the Divine Realm.

Gu Chen nodded and looked at Gu Yuena, Luo Chen, and the other eight with a serious expression."From this moment on, the only ones we can truly trust… are each other!"
