"After devouring a demon beast, if your body is compatible with its skill, you can inherit it" the spirit explained. "But the chances are extremely low."
"So that's how it works!"
Lu Shen grinned, this meant he had an advantage over other Bloodline Warriors!
Normally, a warrior could only have nine skills, but with this devouring ability, he could gain even more!
"Haha! I really am the main character of this world!"

Lu Shen encountered two half demonic wolves beasts, each possessing different skills. One had a freezing breath, while another had swift.
After an intense battle, Lu Shen devoured the demon beasts and gained the swift skill from one of the wolves.

Lu Shen continued to grow stronger. After devouring many low-level beasts and after devouring more muted beast he felt his body full of energy and felt something changing in his body.
"In the refinement realm, you must use pure spiritual energy to cleanse and refine your bloodline" the bracelet's spirit hurriedly instructed.
"Focus your mind on refining the unpurified bloodline in your veins. Once refined, store it in your lower dantian. Otherwise, you'll have a weak foundation!"
In this realm, warriors needed to refine their bloodline to increase its purity. Once all awakened bloodlines in their body were fully refined, they could step into the next realm.
Each realm was divided into early, middle, late, and peak stages.

Lu Shen's heart pounded as his vision blurred. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself back in his bedroom, his mind throbbing with intense pain.

The pain was so intense, he feared closing his eyes, as if doing so might lead to real death.
Desperate, Lu Shen wrapped himself tightly in his blanket, clenching his jaw, trying to steady his breathing.
Each moment felt like an eternity.
A familiar chuckle echoed in his mind.
"Haha! Death in the Origin Land doesn't kill your body, but it makes you feel as if you truly died. The mental pain alone is enough to break weaker warriors."
Lu Shen shivered.
The spirit's voice turned serious.
"Don't let arrogance cloud your mind just because your strength increased. This world is vast, there are many far more powerful than you."
Lu Shen felt a chill run down his spine.
Just moments ago, he thought he had become invincible.
But reality had slapped him in the face.
If this had been a real battle in the outside world, he would have faced a brutal, real death.
"I must not be arrogant" he muttered to himself. "In this world, there will always be someone stronger than me."
The spirit, sensing his realization, nodded in approval.
"At least he understands what's better for him" it thought. "Not like some stubborn fools before him."

Seeing Lu Shen's improved mindset, the spirit finally decided to share its past.
"Long ago, when the universe was still forming, the Origin Bracelet was created. My previous master discovered me inside an ancient ruin. From then on, we traveled together, growing stronger… until he was betrayed by his adoptive brother."
Lu Shen clenched his fists.
"Betrayed…?"
Before he could ask more questions.
"Lu Shen" the spirit interrupted, "your next goal should be the Star Hall. My master's inheritance is stored there. You can obtain a top-level cultivation technique to refine your bloodline further."
Lu Shen nodded firmly.
"Understood."
He then asked, "Who exactly was your master? Where did he come from?"
But the spirit remained silent.
After a while, Lu Shen sighed and stopped thinking about it.
Activating his spirit ability, Lu Shen teleported to the Origin Land gates once again.
He appeared in front of two massive gates.
The low-level origin land, where he had previously died, looked darker than before its white glow had faded to black.
Lu Shen frowned.

He then turned his gaze toward the other side, where another majestic gate stood.
"Star Hall."
Lu Shen walked toward the Star Hall gate. Placing his hand on the entrance, he felt a surge of energy as he was teleported inside.
As he opened his eyes, he found himself in a vast space filled with countless glowing techniques, methods, and formulas, each shining like stars. The hall was divided into different categories: alchemy, formations, artifact refinement, demonic beasts, spiritual herbs, bloodlines, heavenly physics, and more.
"So that's why it's called Star Hall."
His eyes glowed with excitement. "How many top-rank cultivation techniques might be here? Hehehe." He started laughing like a fool.
"How do I obtain techniques from this vast place?"
"You can obtain techniques by simply thinking about the type of technique you want" the spirit explained. "I suggest you choose the Five Element Refinement Cultivation Technique and a body refinement technique. As for other methods, leave them be for now, you're too weak."
"But I only have the fire element. Does that mean I can only practice fire-related techniques?" Lu Shen asked after some thought.
"Idiot. You can devour demon beasts to acquire their skills and pure spiritual energy, enhancing your cultivation. If you devour the same type of demonic beast multiple times, you can gain different elements. For example, devouring a water-type snake demon beast will grant you the water element as well. You can even promote your bloodline to a higher grade."
Lu Shen slapped his forehead. He had forgotten such crucial information.

The Silent Breath technique would help him stay low hey, until he become strong enough to stand on his own. He had read many stories about people who were too flashy with their powers and paid the price for it. He preferred to remain low-key for now.
Blade Technique: Tempest Blade Assault

The user channels spiritual energy into a bladed weapon, unleashing a one-meter-long slash at their enemy.

Although the Tempest Blade Assault was a powerful technique, Lu Shen couldn't use it.
He would have loved to wield blades in both hands, fighting enemies to the death, just like the warriors in the novels he had read back on Blue Star. But with his current abilities, he could not utilize it.

Imagining himself using blades to slay vicious monsters made his blood boil with excitement. But unfortunately, that dream would remain out of reach for now.
