Chapter 36 Bonds of Power

Bonds of Power

The sun was beginning to set over Konoha, casting an orange glow across the village. It was a time for reflection, a rare moment of peace after the chaos of their training. The Kage were off strategizing, and Team 7, along with their summoned beasts, had a brief respite.

Sasuke and the Cheetah

Sasuke crouched low, his black eyes watching his cheetah with a calculating gaze. The creature darted across the clearing, its lithe form blending with the shadows. It had become more than just a powerful ally; it had become a partner. Sasuke's bond with the cheetah was one of quiet understanding—two beings driven by the same determination.

With a soft sigh, Sasuke flicked his wrist, calling the cheetah back to him. It slowed to a graceful halt, and Sasuke knelt down, brushing a hand through its sleek fur.

"You're faster than I ever was," Sasuke murmured, his voice almost inaudible.

The cheetah blinked, tilting its head as if acknowledging his words. It rubbed its head against his shoulder, a silent but unmistakable sign of affection. Sasuke allowed a small, rare smile to tug at the corner of his mouth, then stood up. His cheetah followed, its tail flicking with excitement.

"You'll be ready when the time comes," Sasuke said, his tone still serious, but there was a sense of pride in it.

Naruto, Kurama, and the Baby Nine-Tails

Nearby, Naruto, Kurama, and the baby Nine-Tails were playing. The air was filled with the sound of joyful laughter and playful growls. Naruto tossed a rock up into the air, watching as the tiny Nine-Tails jumped to catch it mid-air with ease. The little fox's tiny tails swished excitedly, and it landed gracefully, turning to face Naruto, its eyes wide with innocence.

Kurama, who had been observing the entire time, couldn't help but chuckle. "It's got a good instinct for battle, doesn't it?" he remarked, his massive form resting comfortably beside Naruto. "Almost like you, kid. But it'll need more than that to survive the real fight."

Naruto smiled, brushing the dirt off his pants. "We'll train it right. I know it'll get stronger with time."

The Nine-Tails, despite being Kaguya's summon, had already formed an attachment to Naruto. It trusted him, like a younger sibling to a protective older brother. Naruto, in turn, saw it as a reminder of the bond he shared with Kurama, only this time, it felt like a fresh beginning—a new chapter.

Kurama watched the baby Nine-Tails with a hint of pride. It was one of his own kind, after all. The two were connected in a way that Naruto would never fully understand.

"You're doing great," Naruto said, crouching down to the little fox's level. He gently scratched behind its ears, and it purred in response, a content sound that reminded him of his first days with Kurama.

Kakashi and the Gray Wolf

Kakashi was not one to show his emotions outwardly, but as he ran alongside his gray wolf, there was a noticeable shift in his usual composed demeanor. The wolf, graceful and swift, moved with a fluidity that matched Kakashi's own agility. They dashed through the forest, weaving in and out of trees, their bond evident in the synchronization of their movements.

Kakashi didn't need to speak—he simply pushed himself further, urging the wolf to keep pace. The wolf responded eagerly, a low growl of excitement escaping its throat.

As they slowed to a halt, Kakashi panted slightly, wiping sweat from his forehead. The gray wolf stood next to him, its ears pricked up, watching him with unwavering loyalty. Kakashi ruffled the wolf's fur and smiled underneath his mask.

"You're a lot like me," he murmured, his tone soft. "Determined. Relentless. But remember, sometimes we have to take things slow."

The wolf let out a short bark in acknowledgment, as if understanding the weight of Kakashi's words. It sat down beside him, gazing into the distance, ready for whatever came next.

Sakura and the Lion Pride

Across the training grounds, Sakura sat on a boulder, the rest of the pride of lions resting around her. She gently stroked the lioness's mane, her expression serene as she looked down at the animals. The pride, massive and regal, seemed to trust her completely. They were strong, each lion built like a powerhouse, but they weren't just warriors; they were family.

The lioness nudged Sakura with its head, its golden eyes full of affection. Sakura smiled, reaching out to pet its head once more.

"You've been through a lot, haven't you?" Sakura said quietly, her voice filled with both understanding and determination. "But we'll face whatever comes next. Together."

The lioness let out a low, rumbling purr, its massive form nuzzling Sakura as a sign of affection. The other lions sat calmly around them, and the atmosphere around them felt peaceful for the first time in what seemed like ages.

Sakura leaned back, resting her head against the lion's side. The warmth and the rhythmic sound of its breathing gave her a sense of calm, a rare moment of peace amid the chaos of training and the looming threats from the Ōtsutsuki.

A Moment of Peace

The team, each with their respective summoning beasts, took a moment to breathe in the quiet, their hearts filled with the kind of peace they rarely experienced. Even in the face of the threats looming over the world, they knew one thing: they were not alone.

They had their summons—loyal, powerful, and connected to them in ways that words could barely describe. And they had each other. Team 7's bond was stronger than ever, and together, they would face whatever came next.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a final, golden hue across the village, Naruto stood tall, his heart swelling with hope. The journey ahead would be tough, but with their summons by their side, there was nothing they couldn't face.

"We're ready," Naruto muttered to himself, his gaze falling on the baby Nine-Tails as it playfully circled around him. "We'll be ready."

And as the rest of Team 7 gathered around, their summoned beasts nestled close, they all knew one thing for sure:

The Ōtsutsuki might be coming, but they weren't going to face them alone.
