The story of three planets and four races

While this was happening , Delvin started the lesson,

" As you know our Nova system has 12 planets. Of these 12 planets 3 are habitable. In fact, two of them were made habitable by pulling them onto the ' life-zone' of the star.

Our planets have history of almost 200,000 years. By that I mean civilizational history. The current four races that are predominant are the 'Marthyas' that is our race, the ' Naturas', the ' Metallas' and the ' Animus'. Of them our race, The Marthyas, is the youngest one. It took several million years for each of these races to achieve civilizational status.

 The other races were born with various abilities and evolutionary states. The Naturas were living with the nature in the forests and hence they were able to communicate with flora and fauna. Their ears elongated to sense the various sounds of the forests. Some of them evolved to see at night. Since they were living with the nature inside the forests and also because they mostly had a healthy vegetarian diet, they had good physique and beautiful faces. They could move faster and could manipulate wind, flora, and fauna due to their evolutionary traits.

The Metallas were the inhabitants of the mountains. They had a natural attraction for metals and crystals. They used to dig tunnels and used it. Hence, they developed a sturdy body which was short in height. They can lift 6 times their body weight naturally. Because of their affinity to metals and crystals they can manipulate them as well as the soil and rocks.

The Animus are normal animals which were able to gain their bipedal forms through consolidation of their powers. They were born with different forms of powers from the start itself. All animus are intelligent enough to understand speech and actions and also avoid normal traps set for other animals. Almost all high tier animus are integral to maintain the balance of the ecosystem. This is the reason why animus were taken from Terra to other planets when they were terraformed to be habitable.

Metallas and Naturas, because of their communion with the various phenomenon of nature, had a spiritual aspect to their powers. Their minds also grew with the powers of their bodies and they began to harness the power of civilization much earlier than us. They considered us beneath them because we could not develop at their pace. And they did not wipe us of. But they enslaved many of us. Used us for work, entertainment and experiments. But they did not wipe us of. It proved to be the greatest mistake. They underestimated our will. They underestimated our tenacity. They underestimated our potential.

The Marthyas were born in the planes. We did not have any special powers or affinities and so we did not develop the special circuit for channeling powers called meridians, which all other races had. As you know, it is the meridians of these races that resonate with the outside environment and give them various abilities. So, we had to struggle a lot. Our ancestors persevered. To use wind, they created windmills and wind turbines. To manipulate water, they created canals, aqueducts, pumps and water ways. We created weapons and tools for various purposes. We came together to hunt hostile races. Before 150,000 years we created nuclear weapons with the concept of nuclear fission and fusion. We Marthyas made a place for ourselves in the planet of Terra.

But we were still far behind the other two races. They could manipulate the myriad phenomena of nature itself. They bullied us a lot. We were able to stand firm by using nuclear weapons which had catastrophic effects. The other two races were not well developed in terms of martial power. Because we developed nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction using the various principles of science including gravity, atmospheric gradient, bio-weapons etc.. they were afraid to launch an all out attack against us. Also we were not that much of a competition for them as well.

Then there was the seven sages of Marthya race: The Saptarishis. They using their immense intellect and experience and combined ancient arcane knowledge and modern science to create a system of training and combat arts.

They used themselves as experimental subjects of these arts and elevated it to an extremely powerful art. They threw themselves to the front lines of the battle between Marthyas and other races. The power they exhibited was extraordinary. Just those seven people could wipe out an entire army or a group of powerful martials from other races.

But for some strange reason, they did not propagate these arts. These combat systems and arts were only imparted to a small group of people who were true to the cause of our race. This group was the spearhead of Marthya's resistance for a long time. 

At that time the first Martial Entities in the world had evolved. There were 6 of them. Three from each race. Seeing that the Saptarishis were a threat to the dominance of their races, 4 of them attacked, the most powerful among them attacked the sages. The battle rocked the Eastern Barren Lands for about 18days. The sages perished along with the 4 martial entities. This battle is remembered as the first resistance of us Marthyas. This deterred the other races from attacking us recklessly.

There was also the matter of expanding the territories for resources. Our planet alone did not have the resources to sustain the resource consumption of meridian implanted people. So the other races looked for other planets.

We on the other hand concentrated on improving our standing using technology. For some reason, the sages did not share their research and powers with anyone else. Hence, we did not have anyone taking on their role. But we did not publicise any of this and other races believed we still had people hiding with the powers of the sages.

We continued our research and found many ways to enhance ourselves. There were even nations that conducted competition based killings to get superior genes fit for combat. Various illegal and unethical means were used in genetic engineering to get the effect of meridians. None of them were fully successful. But we did have an army of soldiers with the power of present day Martial Knights. Technology also developed and many weapons and inventions were made to be at least on the defensive with other races. Although not full fledged war, but other races did try to aggravate us by constantly attacking our borders. They did not want us to develop into a threat. They wanted to stall the development of our technology and forever doom us to extinction." Delvin paused here.
