Chapter 11 Hogwarts and the Grimm's fairy tales

Chapter 11

"Today there are many things to do; the potion ingredients used by each grade need to be organized."

Severus Snape rarely refrained from his sharp tongue when dealing with Regulus Black, after all, they were colleagues, even if only an assistant.

"Frog's eyes, black spider legs, daffodil roots, aconite, dung-stone, porcupine quills, is that all for today?" Regulus Black took the potion catalog and retrieved an entire box of potion ingredients from the storeroom.

"That's quite a lot; I hope you haven't forgotten how to handle potions." Severus Snape had no intention of helping, but he showed some recognition that Regulus Black could accurately find the materials on the list, naturally, his way of acknowledging was very Slytherin.

"How could I forget! Although I didn't pay much attention in my previous potions classes, my exam scores have always been O."

As a standard Slytherin, a noble child is required to achieve excellent results by family demands, especially in Slytherin. If one wants to slack off, they should have entered Hufflepuff from the start, where it is the place for noble children to relax, and it is the second most noble house among the four.

"Is it okay?"

Regulus Black casually asked Snape and took the dragon hide gloves that belonged to him.

Potion handling cannot use wands; the entire process must avoid being contaminated by magic. It is best to wear dragon hide gloves that block magical power. If potion materials are contaminated by a wizard's magic, the resulting potion will definitely be flawed.

This is also why hands-on work is necessary; otherwise, if a wizard waved their wand, various ingredients would be handled properly, wouldn't that be more convenient?

Moreover, some materials have various "effects," and direct skin contact would definitely be a wonderful experience.

Overall, caring for oneself starts with protecting one's hands, and making potions with dragon hide gloves is your best choice.

After more than an hour, the potions professor and his new assistant had entered a state of silence, quickly processing their respective potions, precise and careful; in terms of technique and completeness, the two were evenly matched.

When both stopped their work, all the potion materials needed for the week were processed, still for seven grades.

A cauldron was bubbling with steam, and the aroma of potions wafted through the office. Severus Snape gently stirred it, then took two wooden cups from the table, ladled the potion into them, and pushed one cup toward his assistant.

"Thank you!"

Regulus Black accepted the warm cup and took a sip, a feeling of calm and joy surged within him.

"Calming draught and... exhilaration draught? You mixed the effects of two potions! Congratulations!"

In the wizarding world, potion masters like Severus Snape are not absent but are absolutely rare, especially those who can play with old recipes in innovative ways.

What Regulus Black had just drunk was a new potion made by mixing two potions while retaining the effects of both.

"This is just something I brew to drink as tea; actually, I can no longer feel its effects."

Severus Snape silently drank the potion as well. Did he need a calming draught for his restless emotions? Did he need an exhilaration draught for his mental anguish?

Severus Snape did not know that after so many years, the emotions and mental state that should have settled had long since calmed down; why did he still unconsciously or habitually drink such potions?

As a time traveler, Regulus Black naturally knew the life of the potions professor, so it was no wonder that he treated this potion like tea.

"You'll be teaching the first-year students in the second period today, so I won't be present. Hogwarts is so large; I believe you can find a room to occupy long-term. I'll come back once I've organized everything."

Having finished his tea, Regulus Black put down the cup and prepared to leave, as he, the teaching assistant, had neither a dormitory nor an office.

After leaving the basement, Regulus Black began to stroll around the school, slowly making his way to the eighth floor.

This floor housed the headmaster's office, Professor Flitwick's office, the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw dormitories, and the Room of Requirement, which was Regulus Black's destination.

The Room of Requirement was located opposite the tapestry of the giant troll hitting the dumb Barrow on the eighth floor of the castle.

Regulus Black thought to himself, "I need a place to hide things," and walked back and forth three times in front of the tapestry.

A black, dilapidated door appeared in what was originally a wall.

Pushing the door open, Regulus Black entered a large storage room where everything was haphazardly piled up, leaving a few paths for visitors to walk through. The items here were things that Hogwarts no longer needed, but they were considered school property and could not be easily discarded, so the house-elves piled them up here to gather dust.

As he walked past various odds and ends, broken tables and chairs, tattered books, and old bottles containing unknown remnants of potions, he came across a dilapidated troll specimen… and then a statue of a wizard—he found it!

Regulus Black drew his wand and cast a cleaning spell on the position atop the statue.

The diadem of Ravenclaw, the only relic of Rowena Ravenclaw, the founder of Ravenclaw House… she had enchanted it to enhance the wisdom of the wearer.

The diadem was a pure silver crown, featuring an eagle as the main motif, with large sapphires set at the crown's peak. The crown sparkled, and along the bottom edge was inscribed Ravenclaw's famous motto: "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure."

Regulus took the diadem, and after cleaning it, it emitted an enticing glow. If one did not know its true nature, having transformed from a wisdom crown into an evil Horcrux, anyone would be tempted to wear it.

The issue of the soul fragments was still present; unless this fundamental problem was resolved, these Horcruxes could not be used. And if the method of resolution was incorrect, these Horcruxes would lose their effectiveness.

Regulus Black stored the diadem in the storage space of his Horcrux belt. Since the Titan belt was bound to his soul, all items stored within would not be visible to the outside world, including the Horcruxes; any trace of evil energy would not be revealed.

He had some knowledge of the whereabouts of other Horcruxes, but there was no need to rush; acting recklessly upon arriving at Hogwarts would surely give Dumbledore many reasons to bring him to court!

With this in mind, Regulus Black prepared to leave the Room of Requirement.

However, as he passed a table, a scattered book caught his eye.

"How could there be Grimms' Fairy Tales at Hogwarts?"

Out of curiosity, or perhaps instinct, Regulus Black picked up the old, tattered book.

After leaving the Room of Requirement and walking back and forth three times, a new door appeared. This would become Regulus Black's dormitory and office in the future.

This was also a matter of course, aligning with other time travelers; it was only natural to seize the Room of Requirement.

Lying down on the soft sofa, Regulus first 'restored' the book to its original condition and then began to flip through it slowly.
