'City's going down today,' Peter said confidently to Richie, taking a bite of suya. 'Arsenal's been on fire lately.'
Richie raised an eyebrow. 'City's midfield is solid. They'll probably take control in the second half.'
They were completely engrossed watching the game, commenting on every pass, tackle, and goal attempt. It was the perfect way to relax, good food, a great game, and the comfort of a familiar friendship.
As the match heated up, so did their jokes. Whenever one team got close to scoring, Richie and Peter exchanged light-hearted trash talk, laughing between mouthfuls of food. The game was intense, but they were enjoying each other's company.
'All right, I'll admit, that was a decent play,' Richie said, leaning back in his chair after Arsenal netted the first goal.
Peter just smirked. 'Told you. You've gotta believe in the magic, my guy.'
The sun was beginning to set as the match neared its conclusion. With their plates empty and beers finished, they sat back, feeling the evening's cool breeze set in. Arsenal had won the game 2-1, much to Peter's delight, and they shared a few more laughs about the match.
'Richie, that was a good day,' Peter said, stretching in his chair. 'Glad we did this. It's been a while since I just chilled like this.'
'Same here,' Richie agreed, looking relaxed and content. 'Sometimes you just need a day with good food, good company, and some football. The perfect combo.'
Peter smiled, his tone thoughtful. 'Yeah, if we want to live as long as the people in the Blue Zones, we need more than just eating the right food. It's also about taking time to relax and enjoy life. Balance is key.'
'Tomorrow, we will have to monitor the drones and autonomous cars, to see how far they have improved,' Richie suggested.
'That'll be cool.'
As the evening rolled on, they packed up the grill and cleaned up, chatting about catching up again soon. With their women off at the art gallery, it had been a perfect way for Richie and Peter to enjoy a laid-back weekend, no stress, just great vibes.
