Chapter 4: Revelation.

'Leon's Point of view'

I stood, dumbfounded by the words that came out of the mouth of the cop. As he said each progressing sentence, I felt myself drown more and more in a sea of fear, disbelief and horror.

Each word that came out of the cop made my guts wrench. I thought of the possibility of him lying to me, but it seemed less likely that he was bold enough to do it.

I found it hard to believe my ears so I asked him to repeat his words once more. The cop gave a heavy sigh before narrating what had happened again.

"My coworkers and I from the station were just having a normal morning at work when the sky turned dark all of a sudden. My coworkers thought it was just a bad weather but there was this ominous feeling I felt like it was something more. The sky's were darker than usual and the time it took to completely darken was a minute or so." He began his narration.

He paused for a while, took a deep breath and continued. "All of a sudden there was this blinding light that seemed to burn away my retina. When I regained vision, the sight that befall me was ghastly."

"A strange creature was murdering people and destroying everything in it's path. The creature has eyes that shot terror into the hearts of people, and claws that brought death upon them."

"Naturally, as law enforcers, we rushed to confront it. We used our best riffles and tried our best to gun it down, but our efforts were in vain. We didn't even leave a scratch on it's furry body."

"After toying with us it started wiping us out one after the other. I was the last of my coworkers to have been killed. I was staring at death in the eyes expecting to be in the afterlife at any minute when something sudden happened."

I already knew what the cop, whose name i learnt was Dave, was about to say, but I still had a feeling of anticipation. I had hoped that what he had told me earlier was just my ears playing tricks on me. The serious look on his face told me otherwise.

He swallowed hard before continuing his narration, as this was the crucial part of the story.

"Instead of the strange creature, or alien as you said it was, to kill me, it left in a hurry as if looking for something or rather, as if something was calling onto it. It went full speed in a direction which I later realized was yours. I thought it was strange but I was too happy to still be alive to stay and figure out what was gonna happen to you."

"I ran as fast as my legs could take me as I saw you being thwarted by the alien. As he threw you all over the place, I was looking for a place to hide, that when I found the wall I hid behind when you found me."

"I hid there and waited for it to finish up with you and go find someone else to kill before coming out. I continued waiting behind the wall until I heard a loud boom and saw a ray of light travel to infinity. I quickly got out of my hiding spot in an attempt to see where the light originated from, and that's when I saw you."

"You looked scarier than the alien at that point in time. You looked like you were in a trance of some sort. I couldn't believe the scene in front of me. Your left hand was where the torso of the alien should have been. It was like your hand used the beam of light to blast the torso of the alien away. You collapsed a few seconds later and I ran once again for dear life."

I took a few moments to properly assimilate the situation. What was going on in the world at present? What was going on with me? These types of thoughts flooded my mind continuously. I was so deep in thought that I had forgotten all about the cop before me.

"So what now? What exactly are you?" Officer Dave asked.

I didn't know how to answer. I wanted to tell him that I was completely human, but was I? I could feel myself changing inside. Could feel myself becoming calmer and more used to the carnage around me. Was that normal for humans?

"I am human. I'm not exactly sure how I killed that alien or how much of me is changing by the second but I can assure you of one thing. I am human and will always side with humanity." This was the only answer I could give.

Officer Dave didn't seem too convinced but nevertheless he decided to keep his doubts to himself.

"So what's the plan now?" He asked instead.

"The plan? To survive of course. I don't know what's going on in the world right now but one thing is for sure....we have to do our best to survive. That's the plan."

Officer Dave gave a wide grin in response to my answer. He seemed to like this part of me that I had never known had existed. Maybe it had always been deep within me. Or maybe it never was. I stared at the alien tech on my wrist once more, wondering what it was and how it would affect my life.

I quickly dismissed those thoughts. For now we had to find a safe place to stay and assess the current situation. That was our top priority.

[Somewhere on the Pacific Ocean]

The Andromeda glided along the waves of the Pacific, the mighty ocean lord making it's way through the rain storm and the clashing waves. This beautiful ship was among the top ten largest in the world, and was used as a German research facility.

Aboard the vessel, Lieutenant Jason Howe, one of the leading military generals in Germany's military research squads stood before a glass tube. Jason's domineering build reflected on the tube as his razor sharp eyes seemed to bore into it. The tube before him was filled with green liquid and seemed to glow. Inside it was a figure of a woman who seemed to float unconscious in the cylindrical prison.

Lieutenant Howe thought once more of the recognition and fame he was going to receive if his research was fruitful. The thought of world dominance made him from from ear to ear.

"How's the research coming along Doctor Stevens?" The Herr asked man to his right. The short man was dressed in a white coat, indicating that he was a scientist, with a pair of glasses bridged on his nose.

"It's going quite smoothly Herr Howe. It should be complete and operational by next month." The scientist replied as he took began to grin, exposing his not-so-desired dentition.

They both gave a sinister laugh, one which reverberated throughout the hull of the ship. The sounds of the laughter was soon drowned by the noise of the rain pouring outside and then boom of thunder.

The world was going to change in ways unimagined by man.
