"Zoran, why are you here? Isn't it Faye's semi-final today? You just came over like this, won't she be upset?"
Before Zoran could answer, Britta, standing beside me, couldn't hold back and rushed in.
"What are you doing!"
The moment he saw me, Zoran's face was filled with panic.
"Qi... Faye, why are you here? Is the competition over? How did it go?"
As Britta was about to speak angrily, I held her back and glanced at Aria before speaking coldly.
"Of course I rushed over when I heard my boyfriend was in the hospital. I should be asking you, why are you here when your girlfriend is competing?"
Aria hurriedly waved her hands, seemingly wanting to explain, but her eyes were full of grievance.
"It's all my fault. Zoran only came because I twisted my ankle. Please don't argue with Zoran because of me, Faye."
Seeing Aria's tearful appearance, the guilt on Zoran's face instantly vanished.
"Faye, do you have to be so aggressive?Aria is the manager of our gym, and I'm the owner. What's wrong with me accompanying her to the hospital when she got hurt at work?"
"Since when did you learn to act like a jealous little woman? Aria is our colleague too. You came in here without asking about anyone else's injuries, just jumping to wild conclusions!"
Britta couldn't hold back anymore. She pointed at the wound on my brow and turned to Zoran.
"What about you? You're Faye's boyfriend, but have you asked about her injuries since you got here? Her eyebrow is split open, blood everywhere, and her eye is still swollen. Have you shown any concern for her?"
Britta grew up with Zoran and me, but she never had much success in boxing, so she was content to take a backseat as my assistant.
Zoran was caught off guard by Britta's accusation but tried to keep his composure as he spoke.
"How can you compare Aria to Faye? Faye is a professional boxer. Isn't it normal for her to get hurt in a match? Aria's different. She's just a young girl fresh out of college. Isn't it natural for her to need someone to look after her when she's injured?"
"Besides, Faye looks fine to me now. She's well enough to start trouble for me here!Britta was about to speak, but Zoran cut her off coldly.
"Britta! I'm your boss, mind your tone when you're talking to me!"
I couldn't hold back anymore. I snatched up the water glass from the table and smashed it violently on the floor. Flying shards of porcelain sliced into my arm, and blood instantly began to drip steadily down.
Britta let out a startled cry, hurriedly trying to examine the wound on my hand, but I just stared coldly at Zoran. Even I felt chilled by the sound of my own voice when I spoke.
"Zoran, she's just a girl fresh out of college? What about me? I'm only two years older than her. What makes you think I don't need looking after?"
Perhaps because it was the first time he'd seen me like this, Zoran was momentarily at a loss. Aria, standing behind him, spoke up timidly.
"Faye, sis, it's all my fault. Please don't..."
I ignored Aria and continued in an icy tone.
"Zoran, we're done."
Zoran immediately became anxious, taking a quick step forward.
