Chapter 1

In Lorne five-year flying career, the total direct distance covered was about 1.5 million miles.

Yet I, suffering from heart disease, secretly accompanied him for nearly a million miles during days he knew nothing about.

He hates me for causing the death of his parents.

Five years of marriage brought me endless torment.

Finally, I'm diagnosed with late-stage cancer.

As my life enters its countdown, I create a bucket list.

He, however, brings his mistress and has me suspended in mid-air, leaving me disabled.

Later, I turn to leave.

He kneels, begging me to start over.

But it's all too late now.

My life entered a one-month countdown due to late-stage brain cancer.

I didn't tell anyone.

Before death, I made a bucket list.

The first wish was simple. I wanted to see the cherry blossoms blooming on the main avenue downtown one last time before I died.

Everything was ready, but I ran into Lorne and Scarlett, who were on vacation.

Just because it was Scarlett's first flight piloting a helicopter, she used the excuse of inviting me to be her co-pilot to forcibly drag me to a deserted, open wilderness.

When we arrived at the location, Scarlett clung to Lorne's arm and whined.

"Lorne, I'm scared by myself. Why don't you sit in the co-pilot seat and guide me instead?"

Lorne pinched her cheek lovingly and said, "You little baby."

Seeing this, my heart still ached for no reason.

Lorne hadn't spoken to me for half a month, and at home he treated me like I was invisible.

The small helicopter only had two seats. If Lorne sat in the co-pilot seat, there was no place for me.

I breathed a sigh of relief, lowered my head, and spoke in a humble tone.

"In that case, I'll be going now."Lorne's voice was cold as he yanked me back.

"Did I say you could leave?"

Scarlett seemed to have an idea.

"Lorne, why don't we just tie a rope around big sis? That way she can fly with us too."

I backed away in fear after hearing this.

"No, I can't. Lorne, you know my health..."

Lorne cut me off, tapping Scarlett's nose.

"Clever girl. I'll arrange it right away."

"Tie her up."

But Lorne knew full well my heart was weak and couldn't handle the high altitude pressure.

Overwhelming terror engulfed me. I frantically refused, clawing at the ground and refusing to move.

"No! Please... don't!"

Lorne pinned me down and tied the rope around me. As the plane's propellers whirred to life, the immense force lifted me up, violently ripping off my fingernails.

Ignoring the pain, I was dragged face-up for over 30 feet.

My back was already soaked in blood.

Scarlett looked at Lorne with an innocent expression. "Sorry Lorne, I messed up the takeoff procedure again."Lorne didn't rebuke her, but instead said with a gentle expression, "Go on. When you get it right, that's when we'll take off."

Later, I found myself hanging in mid-air, completely distraught.

While they were being all lovey-dovey in the helicopter, I was being painfully whipped by the cold wind, my body covered in blood, helplessly screaming for them to stop.

I passed out several times, only to wake up startled in mid-air.

Scarlett, hearing the silence from my end on the intercom, remarked disdainfully, "Big sis seems to have fainted again. How boring."

"Let's wake her up a bit then."

Lorne held her hand as they pressed down on the control stick together. The helicopter gracefully descended, hovering just above the lake's surface.

I plunged into the water, and when I regained consciousness, it was due to the shock of cold water repeatedly choking my lungs and the pain of my wounds being torn open.

Within seconds, I was hoisted back up into the air.

The suffocating feeling of air being forced out of my nostrils filled my heart with despair. With each dive and ascent, I was washed over and over again.

Exhausted and drained, I could only beg, "I have brain cancer. I only have a few days left to live. Please don't do this to me. Seeing the flowers was just one of my last wishes. Lorne, please let me go..."Scarlett chuckled. "Sis, if you don't want to fly, just say so. Using death as a threat is a bit much, don't you think?"

Lorne's eyes filled with disgust upon hearing this.

"You think throwing around the word 'death' will absolve you of your sins?"

He didn't believe me.

He didn't believe I was on the brink of death.

Scarlett added fuel to the fire from the sidelines. "Sis, are you planning to sneak off and date other men behind Lorne's back? Using cherry blossom viewing as an excuse, perhaps?"

I wasn't dating other men.

Filled with grievances and nowhere to vent, I opened my mouth, choking back tears.
