Fire At Me!

From the moment Luoshu spotted Abel, those glasses stood out.

This was a man who never wore clothes—why would he suddenly don eyewear?

Something was off.

Luoshu just didn't know what the glasses did.

If they countered anti-memetics, that'd be disastrous.

Given the irreconcilable conflict with the Foundation, future clashes were inevitable—he had to figure them out now.

Escaping could wait.

To test the glasses, Luoshu teleported behind Abel.

Abel instantly pivoted and slashed—no hesitation, no external cue.

Conclusion: The glasses let Abel "see" him directly.

Luoshu wanted to snatch them for study, but Abel's relentless attacks left no opening.

At this range, unarmed against Abel's sword, it was only a matter of time before he got hit.

Time to retreat.

But as he scanned for exits, he noticed:

"The God" and Barbie wore identical glasses.

Their gazes tracked him unerringly.

They were flanking him, forming a three-way pincer with Abel.

If trapped between:

Abel's spatial fissures.

Barbie's spatial shards.

"The God's" spatial barriers.

He'd die.

So before the net closed, Luoshu scaled a nearby building—just like at Site-CN-06.

But this time, no easy escape.

Abel's sword carved a gash through the facade, forcing Luoshu to dodge mid-climb.

Above, "The God" hovered, erecting barriers to block his path.

Barbie, grounded, fumed at her inability to chase.

The field commander, however, acted fast:

"Open fire!"

Bullets rained toward Luoshu.

His first instinct: Teleport behind the MTFs.

But that'd be suicide—"The God" would barrier-block him like last time.

So he retreated, blinking back into the Sanlitun crowd.

Now, only Abel would attack recklessly; the rest would hesitate to harm civilians.

As expected, the commander held fire, eyeing Luoshu's position conflictedly.

With just Abel to deal with, Luoshu taunted Barbie and "The God"—testing if the glasses showed visuals or just coordinates.

No reaction.

Confirmed: Tracking, not sight.

The God's Fury

Frustrated by the stalemate, "The God" overruled the commander:

"Shoot! All of you! He's right there!"

But the Site-CN-02 MTFs balked.

The commander stood firm:

"No O5 authorization, no firing on civilians."

"The God" called in the order, seizing command.

"Aim at Abel's target. Suppressive fire!"

The MTFs reluctantly raised guns—but most deliberately aimed high, sparing the crowd.

"The God" seethed:

"Lower your barrels, or I'll escalate to nuclear options! You'll all die—along with half this city!"

Luoshu's Move

Touched by the MTFs' integrity, Luoshu decided not to exploit their mercy.

He leaped clear of the crowd, shouting:

"Fine! Fire at me, old man!"
