Chapter 47: The Radiant Paradise Grass and Qian Xunji’s Excitement

Bibi Dong paused in front of the towering and majestic Hall of the Pope, her eyes lifted as a surge of dramatic flair rose within her. She spread her arms wide, moved by emotion.

"Spirit Hall, I'm back."

Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo exchanged confused glances and turned to Gu Han, their expressions clearly asking, What's with her now?

Along the way, Bibi Dong would occasionally indulge in moments of theatrical flair. Yue Guan and Ghost, naturally curious, had asked about it before, only to learn it stemmed from the stories Gu Han had told her—tales filled with characters who acted the same way.

Being a young woman herself, Bibi Dong had become fond of such dramatic antics and would occasionally break into these exaggerated moods.

Gu Han chuckled awkwardly and stepped up beside her. "Senior Sister, that wasn't quite enough."

"Huh?"

Bibi Dong turned to him, puzzled.

A confident smile played on Gu Han's lips as he raised one hand high, as though lifting the entire Spirit City with it, exuding bold ambition.

"One day, I will stand at the very peak of this continent, at the pinnacle of Spirit Hall, and gaze down upon all living beings!"

Then, just as quickly, his serious expression vanished into a grin.

"Now that's how you do it."

Yue Guan and Ghost were rendered utterly speechless.

Bibi Dong, too, found herself at a loss for words. She had thought her antics were already dramatic enough, but her junior had just taken things to a whole new level.

She slowly raised a thumbs-up at him.

"Impressive."

"You flatter me, Senior Sister."

Gu Han chuckled softly to himself. As expected, only magic can defeat magic.

"You two better quit it. Let's get inside already."

Yue Guan couldn't take any more of their cringeworthy performances. He quickly urged them to enter before they said anything even more over-the-top.

"Okay, Uncle Chrysanthemum!"

Though Bibi Dong could be mischievous at times, she was still obedient and respectful.

Gu Han's antics were meant to cheer her up, and now that they'd been ushered along, he responded affirmatively and followed her into the Pope's Hall.

Coincidentally, Qian Xunji had just returned from the Hall of Consecration to the main chamber.

As the group stepped inside, Qian Xunji didn't rise. He simply sat calmly upon the Supreme Pontiff's throne. However, his gaze lingered on Bibi Dong, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes before his brows furrowed.

"Dong'er, what level soul ring did you absorb? How did you jump from Rank 30 straight to Rank 40?"

"Master, I absorbed a 9,700-year soul ring."

Bibi Dong immediately summoned her soul ring in response—it shimmered with a deep purple hue tinged with black. Like a child excited to show a parent their achievements, she began animatedly recounting her entire adventure to Qian Xunji.

"What? An external soul bone?!"

Qian Xunji could no longer sit still. He rose to his feet in delight, face full of joy.

"Yes, Master, look!"

As she spoke, Bibi Dong unfurled her Six-Winged Purple Light Wings from her back.

"Indeed! That's definitely an external soul bone!"

Qian Xunji's seasoned eyes instantly recognized the unique nature of the bone.

"Excellent, excellent—absolutely wonderful! My disciple Dong'er truly is blessed by the heavens. She may yet reach the limit!"

Qian Xunji burst into hearty laughter, his joy genuine and heartfelt. Then his gaze shifted to Yue Guan, Ghost Douluo, and Gu Han.

"Remember, Dong'er's external soul bone is a top-level secret of Spirit Hall. Aside from the elders in the Hall of Consecration, no one else is to know of this."

"Understood."

The three knew full well the gravity of this matter and wouldn't breathe a word to outsiders.

"And Dong'er," Qian Xunji added, "you must keep it secret as well. Until it's fully fused and under your control, don't show it off."

"I understand, Master."

Bibi Dong nodded solemnly.

Only then did Qian Xunji ease his stern expression, but another question came to mind.

"By the way, what's this about an immortal herb you mentioned?"

"Master, it's like this…"

Gu Han and Yue Guan took turns explaining the situation surrounding the immortal herb. They also mentioned how Gu Han's innate talent had been restored thanks to it.

"Good. To have such a chance fall into your lap, Gu Han, you're truly blessed."

Qian Xunji nodded after listening, and after checking both Bibi Dong and Gu Han's conditions, he was completely convinced of the herb's efficacy.

"Your Holiness, this is the immortal herb I specially selected for you."

With that, Yue Guan retrieved a jade box from his soul tool. Upon opening it, a radiant herb pulsing with divine, sacred energy came into view.

"This is the Radiant Paradise Grass. It embodies pure light and holiness, and perfectly complements Your Holiness's spirit. Once absorbed, it will surely allow you to ascend to even greater heights."

Even before Yue Guan unveiled the herb, Qian Xunji had already sensed a deep yearning from within his very soul.

A voice echoed from the depths of his being—telling him that if he absorbed this plant, he would earn the Angel God's acknowledgment, become a Rank 99 powerhouse, and prove himself worthy to the forebears of Spirit Hall.

"Good. Good. Good, good, good! Who would have thought… that my breakthrough would lie in a single plant!"

With the Radiant Paradise Grass cradled carefully in his hands, Qian Xunji's excitement could no longer be put into words.

"Your Holiness, there are still many immortal herbs and rare medicinal plants at that location. However, moving them might harm their properties. If left unattended…"

Yue Guan's intentions were clear—he wished to remain at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well to watch over it. He could also use the area's unique properties to grow more herbs and experiment with cultivating new immortal-grade plants. Even if the results weren't ideal, it would still yield a variety of high-grade medicinal resources.

Qian Xunji nodded thoughtfully. "Indeed, that place must be guarded. Since you were the ones who discovered it, I'll entrust it to you. Don't harvest the immortal herbs rashly. If you find a promising young talent worthy of the opportunity, you may bestow one upon them."

Despite his excitement, Qian Xunji remained clear-headed. He hadn't yet decided how to distribute the remaining herbs.

As for the prodigious students within Spirit Academy… to be honest, he wasn't inclined to give them such treasures.

Although they were nurtured by Spirit Hall's resources, many eventually left after becoming strong. Spirit Hall never forced anyone to stay, and they were free to pursue their own paths, form their own factions, or even join other powers. As long as they didn't forget Spirit Hall's kindness or act against it, that was acceptable.

But still… giving out something as precious as an immortal herb? If word got out, it would invite envy.

It wasn't that Qian Xunji feared others—it was simply unnecessary to create avoidable complications.

In the end, he only truly trusted the elders of the Hall of Consecration, his own confidants, and a few loyal elders.

When Yue Guan heard that he'd been assigned to manage the site, he was overjoyed internally, though he remained outwardly respectful.

"Thank you, Your Holiness. I won't let you down."

"Good."

Qian Xunji nodded, then turned to Bibi Dong and Gu Han. Producing two soul bones, he handed them over.

"You two—these took me no small amount of effort to obtain from the Hall of Consecration elders. I hope you won't disappoint their trust… or Spirit Hall's expectations."

"Yes, Master! We will cultivate diligently and live up to the elders, to you, and to Spirit Hall's careful guidance!"

The pair responded with solemn determination.
