Akio returned to his guest room, his mind still filled with Mito's "only an idiot would believe you" expression.
Just moments ago, when facing Mito's skepticism, Akio had no choice but to use the clumsy excuse of "your granduncle was a genius" to explain himself. Judging by Mito's expression, she probably didn't buy it.
"To be honest, believing it would be even more ridiculous…" Akio muttered to himself.
"Forget it, I won't think about it. I should get some sleep first." The so-called "surprise" from the system had left Akio sleep-deprived for two days. When he finally closed his eyes and reopened them, it was already afternoon.
"Ugh, I'm starving. Why didn't anyone call me for lunch? Wait, I think I forgot breakfast too… Damn! Did I even eat dinner last night? What about yesterday's lunch…?" Only then did Akio realize he hadn't eaten for twelve hours straight.
Stepping out of his room, he asked a few Senju clansmen and finally understood—they typically only ate two meals a day.
"Oh, right. This is the Warring States Period; having lunch wasn't common. I remember the Uzumaki clan only adopted the three-meal routine because of my influence when I was a kid…" Akio murmured to himself.
Having no other choice, Akio decided to look for Tobirama. After asking around, he learned that Tobirama had gone to the Fourth Training Ground.
It's worth mentioning that during the Warring States Period, clans with a certain level of power generally divided their training grounds into four sections. The First Training Ground was the largest, primarily used by Jōnin-level or higher ninja for large-scale or high-destructive techniques. The Second Training Ground was slightly smaller, and only Genin who had experienced battlefield combat could enter. The Third Training Ground was for Genin who had yet to participate in battle, mostly children under twelve. Any older than that, and they were already sent to the battlefield. Even Hashirama, the eldest son of the clan leader, was no exception—he went to war at the age of eight.
As for the Fourth Training Ground, it was reserved for children who had not yet become Genin. Since they were the clan's future, this area had the highest level of security. The Senju clan's Second Elder was stationed there almost permanently.
"The Fourth Training Ground, huh? Tobirama must be teaching the kids. I might as well take a look. Speaking of which, something major happened at the Uchiha's Fourth Training Ground a few years ago…" Akio thought to himself. "If I remember correctly, the Hyūga clan, relying on their Byakugan, ambushed them once. Nearly half of the Uchiha children were lost. I think that's where Madara's brothers died…"
"What a shame I wasn't there. Otherwise, it might have been yet another major event in the Naruto world: 'The Death of Uchiha Madara's Brothers'? But seriously, the Hyūga really made a bold move—they formed a blood feud with the Uchiha that day."
"The Uchiha went mad with revenge, relentlessly hunting down the Hyūga. Even with the Senju clan nearby, the Hyūga were still beaten into seclusion. There's been no news of them on the battlefield for years."
"The Warring States Period… nothing but hatred. Konoha's founding is probably still about twenty years away…"
Lost in thought, Akio soon arrived at the Fourth Training Ground.
Tobirama was instructing the children on shuriken-throwing techniques. Seeing Akio, he immediately paused the lesson.
"Kids, this is Uzumaki Akio. He is your granduncle and a master of shuriken techniques. I'll have him teach you today," Tobirama said.
"This doesn't seem appropriate…" Akio hesitated.
"It's fine. The more skilled should lead the way. Please, go ahead," Tobirama insisted.
"Your clan's Second Elder looks absolutely furious…" Akio chuckled as he glanced at the elder's dark expression.
Second Elder: "…" If Akio weren't here, he'd have given Tobirama a lesson in "tough love."
Seeing Tobirama's awkward expression, Akio took the initiative. "Alright then, I'll demonstrate a special shuriken-throwing technique."
Akio walked up to the shuriken target and performed an advanced throwing technique reminiscent of "Uchiha Itachi teaching Sasuke." Instantly, he was met with a crowd of bright, admiring eyes.
Just as he was about to show off some more, his stomach growled loudly, cutting the moment short.
"I really am not suited for showing off…" Akio sighed, looking up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, his face filled with melancholy.
"Uh, Granduncle, you must be starving after not eating all day. Let me take you to the dining hall," Tobirama offered, breaking the awkward silence.
"Go on, Tobirama. I'll handle things here," the Second Elder quickly interjected, worried that Akio might corrupt the younger generation.
"Come on, Granduncle. After we eat, I still have some ninjutsu questions to ask you." Tobirama led Akio toward the dining hall.
"Ahh, I feel alive again!" Akio exclaimed after eating his fill. "You know, Tobirama, I actually went nearly two whole days without food."
"I noticed…" Tobirama muttered, staring speechlessly at the empty plates—enough to feed four people.
"Alright, if you want to learn my Shuriken Substitution Technique, I'll teach you. But whether you can master it is up to you," Akio said.
"That's not it, Granduncle. I want to develop a space-time ninjutsu—by marking kunai with a spatial seal, I hope to achieve long-distance teleportation," Tobirama explained.
"The Flying Thunder God Technique?" Akio murmured.
"Flying Thunder God? That's a great name," Tobirama remarked, having caught Akio's muttering.
Akio: "…" Great. I just got credit for naming it.
"The concept is similar to my Shuriken Substitution Technique, but my version has a long cooldown time. That's where Flying Thunder God has a big advantage—it has no such limit," Akio added.
"Cooldown time?" Tobirama looked confused.
"It's the interval between two uses of the technique, roughly thirty seconds. It's an inherent limitation of the substitution jutsu—I can't change it," Akio explained.
"But I do have some suggestions for you…" Akio then started giving Tobirama numerous tips, drawing from his knowledge of the Naruto storyline. He mentioned things like placing seals on people or transferring objects, overwhelming Tobirama with insights.
"Thank you, Granduncle. I need to go and refine this. Let's continue tomorrow," Tobirama said, cutting Akio off as he rushed off to study his new ideas.
With nothing to do, Akio wandered over to check on Mito, making sure he'd have something to talk about when he returned to the Uzumaki clan.
Then, he went to the First Training Ground, found a secluded spot, and practiced his new jutsu—Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.
For the next few days, Akio's life revolved around eating, sleeping, discussing Flying Thunder God with Tobirama, developing Rasenshuriken, and visiting Mito.
A week later, he looked at the small Rasenshuriken in his palm and smiled in satisfaction. He knew that by increasing his chakra output, he could perform the same Rasenshuriken as Naruto. However, since the technique damaged cells, it was best reserved as a trump card.
Now, Akio had even more free time.
Another week passed, and Akio prepared to bid farewell to the Senju and return to the Uzumaki clan.
Just then, a familiar notification appeared in his mind: "You have witnessed and participated in a major Naruto World event—The Development and Naming of the Flying Thunder God. Reward: 5 Witness Points."
"…Seriously?!"
