Chapter 7: The Enchanted Path and the Flaming Duel

Double Life Dreamer

---

Ryo woke up with a jolt, but instead of his bed back on Earth, he found himself surrounded by bookshelves taller than a house.

Ah. The mansion library. Right.

Stacks of books, scattered parchment, and several glass vials filled with glowing liquid covered his table. His notes looked like the ramblings of a mad scientist—or an overworked university student cramming for finals. He had been experimenting on something important before he fell asleep.

"Oh, you're awake?"

Ryo turned to see his sister, Elara, leaning against the doorway with a smirk. "What are you even doing?"

Ryo stretched, yawning. "Just… experimenting."

"With what?"

"Mixing elements to form new materials," he said, motioning to his scribbles.

The AI back home helped him realize that magic can be manipulated scientifically. If he combine different elemental structures properly, he could create stronger alloys, better enchantments, and maybe even develop new magic-tech weapons.

Elara raised a brow. "since when do you love to study"

Ryo ignored her sarcasm.

Elara walked up and peered over his notes. "But wait, aren't you supposed to be a Magic Swordsman? Since when do you care about magic theory?"

Ryo sighed. "I thought being a swordsman would be easier, but then I realized—nope. Too much effort."

Elara snorted. "Wow. Lazy much?"

Ryo frowned. "Not lazy. Efficient. Why go through all the pain of learning sword techniques when I can just create enchanted weapons that fight for me?"

Elara blinked. "That… actually makes sense. But if you think being a magician is easier, you're dead wrong."

"Why?"

"Because there are thousands of magicians competing for a spot, and you didn't even qualify for the entrance exam remember you have low magic energy."

Ryo slumped in his chair. "Oh."

Elara laughed. "Tough luck, bro."

He frowned, thinking. There has to be another way…

Elara tapped her chin. "Well, you could other magic like alchemy, formation magic, magic taming ,Enchantment Magic or spiritual magic."

"Formation magic" ryo asked

"Formation magicians are people who buy scrolls and set up traps of defence formation it for rich people so don't even think about it"

Ryo perked up. "What of Enchantment magic?"

"It's for people who don't have enough magic in their body—like you." She smirked. "Instead of casting spells, they write magic onto weapons, armor, or even their skin. It's basically tattoo magic."

Ryo's eyes widened. "So, I can just write my magic instead of chanting it? That sounds… perfect."

Elara shrugged. "I guess. But didn't you say you wanted to be a knight?"

Ryo stared at her blankly. "I guess I don't remember ."

Elara rolled her eyes. "You literally—never mind. Just don't piss off the prince's girlfriend again, okay? Last time, you got wrecked."

Ryo groaned. "I know."

She laughed and left.

After switching his course at the principal's office, Ryo dedicated himself to his studies.

But unlike before, he wasn't focusing on people or friends —only success.

Day after day, after class he locked himself in the library or his room, scribbling down magic formations, experimenting with new enchantments, and studying metal manipulation.

He learned that some magicians can control metal, but the truly advanced ones can reshape it at will.

Curious, he waited until he returned to Earth and asked his AI:

"How do those magicians shape metal without melting it?"

The AI responded:

"They vibrate the atoms at a precise frequency, allowing them to reshape the atomic structure."

Ryo was fascinated he was a commerce student but was also interested by science.

If he could apply this to enchantments, he could engineer weapons that transform at will!

Excited, he designed a 3D model of a weapon that could transform into a bag, and a full combat suit.

For weeks, he refined his designs, incorporating magic formulas and AI calculations to make his enchanted armor stronger and more efficient.

Finally, after dozens of failures, he created his first prototype:

A back pack that transform into a flexible exosuit that covered his body like an armoured skin, granting him enhanced speed, durability, and even flight through a jetpack mechanism.

Eager to test it, he activated the suit inside his dorm room—

BOOM!

The jetpack sent him flying into the ceiling, nearly knocking him unconscious.

"Ow."

For the first time in weeks, Ryo stepped outside.

The moment he did—

Everyone. Stared.

Ryo thought to himself . "Uh… why is everyone looking at me like that?"

A familiar voice called out:

"Ryo?! DUDE, YOU'RE ALIVE?!"

His friend, Leon, ran up, eyes wide. "Bro, we thought you died."

Ryo frowned. "I was just studying."

Leon gawked. "For weeks? No one saw you at sword training!"

Ryo scratched his head. "Oh… yeah. About that… I switched to Enchantment Magic."

Leon gasped. "YOU'RE A TRAITOR."

Ryo rolled his eyes. "Okay, drama queen."

Before Leon could respond—

A gang of boys approached, weapons glowing.

"So, you had the guts to come back," one sneered.

Ryo tilted his head. "Uh… who are you?"

The leader scowled. "You don't remember? YOU TRIED TO HUMILIATE THE PRINCE!"

Ryo blinked. "Yeah about that...?"

"AND YOU TRIED TO STEAL HIS GIRLFRIEND!"

Ryo gasped while he put his hand on his forehead in disapointment. "What did I do?"

Leon yelled in defense. "You got it all wrong, ryo just happened to trip on the prince girlfriend while they were arguing and then she claimed that ryo is her new boyfriend ."

"Oh. Really."

The leader growled, raising his flaming sword. "You're dead."

Ryo sighed. "Man… I was really hoping for a quiet day."
