''Ayra! Ayra, where are you? Ayra!'' Looking frantically around, Seconen cleared every obstacle that she felt could block her from seeing where Ayra was.
Ayra looked at her aunt skeptically and wondered why she was so disturbed.
Did something bad happen? Even if something bad had happened, the only person that mattered to Ayra was her aunt, Seconen, and she was right there. So, what could be the problem?
Wait, there was one more person that Ayra cared about in her pack. Zynth. Alpha's son!
At that moment, Ayra was going to spring out from where she was hiding, but she quickly remembered that her hideout was a secret kept from everyone in the world, including her aunt, Seconen, and her crush, Alpha Zynth.
Ayra paused for a bit and tried to think of how to reveal herself, but she didn't need to because her aunt frantically ran out when she didn't see Ayra anywhere.
What was going on?
''Aunt Seconen!'' Ayra yelled as she hurried out of hiding and ran after her aunt. But she was too slow, as her aunt was now seen running at the top of her heels.
Ayra paused to observe a rather shocking situation closely. Why was her aunt running like that? While Ayra was stuck to the ground and watching her aunt's back, she saw the reason her aunt was running away like that.
''Seize her!'' The familiar voice of Dane Augustus, the warrior leader of the South Moon Pack, beckoned his men.
Soon, Seconen was surrounded by hefty soldiers who easily outran her and seized her as commanded.
''What did I do? I'm innocent. Let go of me.'' Seconen dared to fight off the men who were taking her away, but her protests fell on deaf ears. Soon she was dragged out of Ayra's sight.
Ayra had never been as frightened as she was at that moment.
''I told you, Sec! Bring her in, and you will be free, but you chose to compromise.'' Ayra faintly heard Dane Augustus talking to her aunt, Seconen, in a more familiar voice.
Ayra thought as much. Her aunt Seconen was loved by everyone in the pack, including Dane Augustus, so what on Earth must have made him drag her out like that as if she was a stranger if it wasn't because of an external factor?
What, or who was the external factor?
Ayra thought deeply and quickly sensed that she was the reason her aunt was being treated like a rogue leper.
Ayra's heart skipped a beat.
What happened? What did she do? Ayra wondered as she snuck out of her house, following the trail to the center of the Packhouse, seeing that everyone had gathered there.
Ayra knew she had to stay out of sight. She slid into the shadows and snuck close enough until she could hear what was being said from the seat of authority.
''Ayra is just a little girl. She can't be the carrier of the Tale Of Doom. There is no way Ayra is capable of handling such a fated assignment.'' Aunt Seconen was trying to keep Ayra from harm's way.
''The carrier of the Tale Of Doom? How?'' Ayra muttered.
She was just a she-wolf without a past, so how could the moon goddess allocate her such a responsibility? The carrier of the Tale Of Doom would make nations fight against themselves. Brothers and kinsmen would be divided as each person would be forced to choose a side.
If she was the carrier of the Tale Of Doom, that meant that she would have to die before she found her mate if the prophecy according to the tale was to be prevented.
Ayra's eyes shone in shock. They were going to kill her if they caught her. That was the reason her aunt was looking for her so frantically. She was trying to protect her.
Ayra's heart broke because she knew that there was nothing she could do to save her aunt. She knew that her aunt would prefer that Ayra run away instead of trying to save her.
Running away from the South Moon Pack was the only option that Ayra had, and so she started to head towards the less traveled exit of the boundaries of the South Moon Pack.
With a broken heart, Ayra ran until her heels hurt. She thought of the few friends she had in the South Moon Pack and the fact that she didn't even get to say goodbye to them.
Ayra did not have a family. Or, better put, she did not meet her family as she grew up with her aunt, Seconen. Ayra was originally from an Alpha family, but her parents abandoned her. They abandoned her because they saw the mark on her and immediately knew that she was the carrier of the Tale Of Doom.
Quickly, they surrendered themselves to the pack as they had been marked for treason. Giving birth to the carrier of the Tale Of Doom was as good as being the carrier itself.
It was when Ayra was left alone that Seconen found her in the forest and adopted her while her parents' pack looked for her to no avail.
Seconen had dedicated herself to protecting Ayra, especially because she knew exactly what Ayra's destiny was about, and she considered herself chosen to protect a carrier of such an intense destiny. Seconen had protected Ayra for eighteen years.
Ayra was so beautiful that everybody in the South Moon Pack loved her without knowing she was the carrier of the Tale Of Doom.
However, one person always suspected her, and that was her arch-enemy, Lopez, the daughter of the Beta of the South Moon Pack.
Lopez was always jealous of Ayra's beauty. She had noticed the mark behind Ayra's ear but because Ayra always concealed the mark with dye, Lopez was always left thinking that she might be hallucinating and making things up.
So, one day, she told everybody that Ayra carried the mark of the Tale Of Doom. Everyone ignored her, but soon enough, she took a picture of the mark on Ayra when she was not paying attention, and everyone saw it.
Summoning Ayra to the pack's square, her aunt, Seconen refused to give Ayra up, and that gave Ayra the chance to run away.
