Chapter 100: Golden Bone, Fusion Material!

Chapter 100: Golden Bone, Fusion Material!

The Death Canyon is vast, even larger than the Sunset Forest, and its terrain is unusually flat.

In the center of the canyon, a black river flows quietly, resembling dirty blood seeping from the underground world, with a strong, unpleasant odor of blood.

The old Thunder Hell Vine creates a thunder pool around itself, and the mist here can do little to block it.

Su Ye had hoped to rely on flight to quickly find the Thunder Hell Vine in the Misty Forest, but he soon realized his mistake.

The mist exerts a strong suppression on both the spirit and soul. After flying only a few hundred meters, Su Ye was forced to descend.

It felt as though an invisible force was pulling at his soul, and only once his feet touched the ground did that sensation disappear.

"Can't fly... and it suppresses strength..." Su Ye muttered to himself. "This Death Canyon is indeed a good place for training..."

With those thoughts, Su Ye dashed forward like lightning, his form flashing through the trees. In front of him, three emerald wind-attributed phoenixes were using their wind powers to clear the path ahead.

As the fog parted, the forest landscape began to reveal itself, though the mist quickly closed in again. It was enough for Su Ye to make his way forward.

With the phoenixes helping stir the fog, his visibility and mental power expanded significantly, allowing him to safely explore the area.

After searching for a long time, he still found no trace of the Thunder Hell Vine. However, he noticed an abundance of ordinary soul beasts in the Death Canyon.

There were few soul beasts that could transform into undead creatures after death, but Su Ye encountered several undead soul beasts fighting each other. These creatures didn't need to train; they grew stronger by killing and fusing with the bones and souls of other creatures—similar to the practices of evil soul masters.

Roar—

A hoarse tiger cry echoed from a distance, deep and menacing. The spiritual power it emanated was unlike that of humans; it was dark, cold, and suffocating to the soul.

"…This feeling?!"

Standing on a large tree, Su Ye looked into the distance, alarmed. The spiritual presence felt strangely familiar. It reminded him of the time he attacked Blazing Academy. Though the circumstances were different, the spiritual energy felt similarly indifferent—emotionless and cold, like a piece of silver in the deep sea.

And the sense of death was nearly identical, like a demon lord sitting on a throne, where blood and death were mere pastimes.

Without hesitation, Su Ye moved towards the source of the cry, determined to investigate.

Beneath the dark trees, a blood-gold tiger was viciously devouring the flesh and bones of its prey. The sound of breaking bones echoed through the forest, creating a disturbing atmosphere.

The prey was no ordinary creature—it was an iron-backed bear, over three meters tall and likely more than a thousand years old. In comparison, the tiger, barely a meter long, seemed tiny, yet it tore into the bear with ferocity.

"Zombie tiger?" Su Ye muttered, disgusted by its appearance.

The tiger had once had shining fur and lively eyes, but now it was a rotting carcass. Its flesh was decaying, and maggots squirmed through its body. Its once beautiful coat was stained with stinking blood, now a deep scarlet. Its abdomen was hollow, and the golden skeleton was the only thing left holding its shape together.

As the tiger tore into its meal, it suddenly let out a low, dangerous growl, sensing an intruder.

Slowly turning its head, Su Ye saw its decayed face. Two red flame-like eyes glowed from deep within its empty sockets. Wrapped in black flames, the air around it swirled with dark energy that seemed to drain the vitality around it.

Su Ye could feel his own soul power diminishing. It wasn't being drawn out, but rather, it seemed to be disappearing, as if it were being consumed by some strange chemical reaction, opposite to the purifying effect.

No—more than that—his life force was being drained away.

"What a strange ability!" Su Ye thought, his pupils narrowing as he observed the blood-like molecules escaping his body. He realized that if the fight dragged on, the tiger's draining powers would be fatal.

Without delay, golden flames erupted from his body, pure and brilliant, contrasting with the dark energy of the undead tiger.

Roar—

Enraged by the light, the tiger leapt at Su Ye with terrifying speed, claws aimed at him.

"Get lost!" Su Ye yelled, throwing a punch of pure golden light that sent the tiger flying.

Boom!

The tiger crashed through several trees before finally stopping, its skeletal structure remarkably intact. The punch, filled with pure yang energy, caused the undead tiger immense pain. It howled in agony and desperately rubbed against the trees, trying to rid itself of the burning sensation.

Su Ye stood there, surprised, his eyes narrowing. The tiger's defense was incredible, and its bones were clearly reinforced, making it highly resilient.

"This... its mental power and defense are extraordinary. It becomes stronger by devouring others," Su Ye observed. "Bones are the key to its defense. Strengthened bones are incredibly powerful."

Su Ye recalled Gu Rong, the Bone Douluo, a master of defensive power who also relied on his bones for defense.

However, this punch had revealed something important: Su Ye's Pure Yang Wuji Gong was the perfect counter to undead creatures.

"...Disgusting, but this bone is really useful!"

Su Ye's eyes gleamed as he looked at the tiger's skeleton. Last time, he had wanted to fuse a dragon bone into his Golden Phoenix martial soul to boost its defense to the extreme. Now, the undead tiger's bones seemed like a perfect candidate.

The dragon bone had a lingering soul, making it unsuitable for fusion, but this undead skeleton, even without merging into his martial soul, could serve as an excellent material for his bow and arrows.
