It took about a few hours to get away from the crowd, but once she was able to hide near a familiar building, the media passed by the building and Kirika gave a little sigh of relief. Who knew she would be questioned by the media today? I mean, she almost got kidnapped by a villain on the streets, and also she is a young model in middle school so lots of people would have questions about how she almost got kidnapped. So who wouldn't want to question her about the villain? Kirika went inside the building to see her manager and other models in the building who were doing photoshoots.
"You were attacked by a villain!? Do you know how many phone calls I had to make just-" The girl shoved her school bag to her manager who was concerned and frustrated about the situation she was in about an hour ago. "Relax, I'm not hurt. Besides, that villain wasn't anything that I haven't dealt with before. Just chill out..." He looked at her and gave her a stern look, "Chill out? Chill out!? You were almost kidnapped! What would've happened if you were human trafficked!?" The model covered her ears as she walked over to a chair and sat down while she went on her phone.
While on her phone she saw multiple news coverage of a villain attack. There were news stories that she read saying the same thing, it was like the people who were publishing the villain attack were copying each other. That isn't a surprise since she is in a field where models would copy other models to get more fame, it's basically rivalry. But instead of copying each other's writing, they copy each other's style of posing, magazine coverage, and what they're going to advertise for. As for Kirika, she wouldn't care who she was going up against, she just want to start a new life away from her childhood home and family.
"Are you even listening to me? Kirika!" The girl looked at her manager who was in front of her who was holding what looked like to be a script. "Wha?" The man pinched his nose as he sighed out of annoyance due to his model attitude towards the situation she was in before she walked into the building. "Just get dressed so we could get this over with..." He handed her the script before walking away to talk to one of the camera crew people who was adjusting the camera. Kirika looked down at the script that her manager gave her and started to read it, the camera shoot was a beach scene.
'It is almost summer, whatever, these are just a few pictures. Nothing else, I hope,' the girl thought to herself as she went into her dressing room. Kirika started to get dressed in a white and light pink bathing suit and started to find a robe to put on to cover herself for the meantime. Once she finds one she puts it on and she puts on matching sandals with the outfit that she had on underneath the robe. She walked out of her dressing room and walked over to the same chair she sat in before to get her hair and makeup done on her before the photo shoot.
As she was getting her hair and makeup done she starts to remember the conversation she had with Midnight. A school that would give her recognition, an opportunity for her to be able to get known worldwide. 'That doesn't sound like a bad idea,' she thought to herself as the makeup crew and hair designers were finished with her. Kirika was obviously bored out of her mind from doing the same things everyday, going to school, learning, going to photo shoots, her manager talking about what she needs to do the next day, and then go home. It's been like that for some years now, so maybe joining UA won't be a bad idea.
**After The Photoshoot**(getting driven home)
"As you might already know, since you're about to get out of middle school it should be a good opportunity to find a high school to your liking. I'm suggesting you should join-" Before Kirika's manager could finish his sentence she spoke up, "I'm thinking I should go to UA." The man dropped the clipboard he was holding as he stared at the girl, he couldn't believe his ears, did she really say she wanted to go to UA high school!? The top hero school!? "Uhh...w-why would you want to go to UA? Is there a problem with modeling? Is someone in the agency trying to bring you down?" Loads of questions were getting spat out to her.
"No it's nothing like that. It's just...I heard that some people get tons of recognition at that school, and they are more popular with the media since the school is well known," Kirika started to explain. "Think about it, I'll be able to protect myself and other people while still being on top at the same time." She stops talking looking up at her manager who had a shocked look on his face but also being nervous, "Are you sure? I mean it's pretty difficult getting to the school as it is." The girl nodded as her manager gave a slight sigh in disbelief. "Alright...but if you ever want to change your mind just let me know."
After a half hour in the car ride the driver dropped Kirika off. Her manager looked out of the window of the limousine, "I'll see you tomorrow Kirika, be safe," the model waved him goodbye as she saw the car drive off. She turned around to see the h*ll house that she was about to enter in and rolled her eyes, she took a small sigh and walked into the average sized house. While she was taking off her shoes she could smell of something burnt, she quickly dropped her school bag and raced towards the kitchen to see her little brother holding a plate of what seems to be burnt leftovers.
"Kiran, oh thank goodness," the girl took the plate of burnt food and placed it on the counter of the table besides her, "Were you still hungry?" She asked her younger brother while he hugged her ever so tightly. The young child looked up at her and started to talk, "Mom said she would've been home an hour ago when I got here. I was waiting for her but I got hungry. So I tried to put the leftovers in the microwave and... it burnt a little." Kirika was a little frustrated- wait no, over frustrated that her mother would not give her 6 year old brother food before she left.
Kirika made her little brother curry and rice and placed the plate on the table for him to eat. While she saw her little brother eating she went over to pick up her bag and searched through it to find her phone. Once she found her cellphone she walked towards the living room to make sure Kiran wasn't listening and dialed their mother. The phone rang and rang, before she knew it she could hear people talking and music in the background, "Yeah? Who dis?" With an annoyed look Kirika spoke in a stern tone, "It's your daughter. Where the heck are you?" The girl kept hearing loud voices as she didn't hear her mother respond back to her question.
"Are you there? Where the f*ck are you?" That seemed to catch her mothers attention as Kirika heard her mother respond back to her question this time, "Don't use that language. I am your own mother. Also that's none of your business." The response seemed to trigger the girl as her voice became sterner and louder, "You left Kiran alone by himself! You could've at least heated up the leftovers before leaving." "Oh don't be dramatic. He could take care of himself, he's 6." Kirika seemed to get annoyed and hung up on her mother. She placed the phone into her pocket, she pinched her noise as she went back into the kitchen.
"Who were you calling?" Kiren asked wondering who his older sister was calling, Kirika patted her little brother's head and smiled at him. "Don't worry about it too much, just finish up eating so you could take a bath and then sleep," Kirika said as she took a plate of curry and rice to eat for herself. Her mother wasn't the best person since she had a record of leaving her alone at home to feed for herself. She quickly grew up to be mature and how to take care of herself, and her younger brother, her father and mother divorced when she was 12 and her brother was 3. But her mother didn't care, like most of the men she would date, her mother would forget about them and pretend they never exist.
Once the two siblings finished eating, Kiran went to take a bath and Kirika went to wash the dishes to leave the kitchen clean and spotless. While she went to take out her homework from her bag she noticed a card that had a phone number on it. 'Oh. I forgot I put that in there.' Kirika stared at the card that Midnight gave to her after the villain attack, should she call the number? Probably not, she is too exhausted after today, going to school, getting attacked by a villain, the photoshoot, she thinks it should be better for herself if she rested for now. Besides, she isn't going to do that much stuff tomorrow so it should be good.
After her brother got finished taking a bath she quickly finished up her homework so she could be able to take a quick shower. Thoughts went flooding through her head as the water poured down on her. What if becoming a hero could change her? Should she actually try for the exams? Maybe she should try hiring a babysitter for her brother if she gets into UA. Or maybe she could convince her manager to take care of her little brother for her, that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea.
She turned off the water and got dressed into a black shirt and gray sweatpants, it wasn't much but it felt comfortable for her. Kirika walked up to her brother's room and knocked on the door before entering the room, Kiren was holding an Eraserhead figurine and one of the plushies he had on his bed. "Playing heroes?" She asked as she went up to him, Kiren nodded before he put his toys away, Kirika picked him up and placed him on his bed. "Riri? Do you think I could become a hero?" Kiren asked his older sister as she was tucking him into bed.
The girl paused for a moment before looking at him, "It depends how you want to live, but I know for sure someday you could save people." Kiren looked at her with joy and happiness, "I promise you, when I become a hero I'll protect you anyway I can!" Kirika smiled at her brother's enthusiastic promise, she was a bit nervous about him becoming a pro-hero but he loved heroes and always wanted to save the ones who needed help. "Goodnight Kiren." "Goodnight Riri..." Kirika patted her brother's head and left the room to go to her bedroom.
When she got to her bedroom she went over to her desk and placed her bag on a chair. Kirika looked around her desk and she grabbed a photo album of her father and her at her elementary graduation. Her mother couldn't attend so her father felt early from work so he could be there for her, the smile on his face and the excitement in her eyes at that time. Oh how she missed those days... Kirika placed the photo album on her desk again as she went into bed and wrapped herself in her blanket. 'Goodnight dad... I love you...'
