Chapter 6: The Second Fin's Awakening

Kaido's breath came in ragged gasps as he stood in the eerie darkness of the abyss. The twisted creatures with two fins surrounded him, their hollow eyes glowing faintly in the void. Unlike the beast he had fought before, these ones moved with unsettling coordination, as if they shared a single mind.

The voice from the darkness echoed again.

"Power is not given freely. If you wish to ascend, you must earn it."

Kaido's muscles tensed. He could still feel the lingering energy of the First Fin, but it wasn't enough. The creatures before him were stronger, faster, and something told him they weren't going to wait for him to figure things out.

The first beast lunged. Kaido barely dodged, rolling to the side as another one followed. He countered with a punch, but the creature twisted unnaturally, avoiding his attack with ease.

They're adapting!

A sharp claw grazed his shoulder, sending a jolt of pain through his body. Kaido gritted his teeth. He needed more power—he needed the Second Fin.

But how?

Indar's words echoed in his mind: "Power without control is meaningless."

Kaido closed his eyes for a split second, reaching inward, searching for the dormant energy that had brought him this far. And then—he felt it.

It was different from the First Fin. This energy wasn't raw and unstable; it was sharper, more refined. It was waiting for him to grasp it.

His eyes snapped open, glowing faintly in the darkness. The creatures hesitated, sensing the change.

Kaido took a step forward, his body moving with a newfound fluidity. The next creature lunged, but this time, he didn't just dodge—he moved before it even attacked, reading its movements as if he had seen them before.

He struck.

His fist connected, but unlike before, the impact wasn't just force—it was precise. The creature staggered, its body convulsing before collapsing into dust.

The Second Fin had awakened.

The remaining creatures hesitated for only a moment before attacking together. But Kaido was different now. He weaved through them, his movements controlled and lethal. Each strike landed perfectly, each step calculated.

One by one, the creatures fell.

As the last one dissolved into nothingness, the voice from the abyss returned.

"You have taken your next step. But the path only grows darker from here."

Kaido exhaled, his body still thrumming with power. He had awakened the Second Fin—but deep down, he knew this was only the beginning.

Seven more fins remained. And each one wo

uld push him further into the unknown.
