"I'm dead. This suuuhhhuuucks." Scott groaned, in the middle of a desert.
"Scott." You called out, instantly making him turn. "I have something for you."
"Y/N? How are you here? What's going on?" Scott asked, his eyes widening.
"Long story short, after you died, I turned into my evil self for a while, and then I defeated them. I'm fully good now, and I got an extra life when I shattered them to pieces." You explained, showing him the extra life. "So, you better make this count, because this is your second shot."
"And for the record, he's not dead, Y/N. Just having some idiotic dream." A familiar voice stated, and you looked over to see...
"Ramona?!" You and Scott cried in unison and shock.
"Hey." Ramona waved, awkwardly, sitting on the sandy ground.
"Um... how's it going?" Scott greeted, nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"What happened? I was looking for you all over Toronto." You questioned, relieved that she was here.
"You were?" Ramona asked, raising her eyebrow.
"That was what my life was dedicated to ever since you just kinda... left." You explained, sitting down next to Scott's other side. "I don't leave anyone behind, except my evil self. And they're gone now."
"You went evil? Like, completely evil?" Ramona inquired, pretty surprised.
"I'll explain later. But, what about you? Scott and I were worried sick about you." You asked, wanting to know what happened.
"I, uh... kinda disappeared for a while, I guess." Ramona confessed, sighing. "I went looking for... I dunno, myself. That sounds so stupid..."
"Well, at least you weren't with him. Gideon, I mean. That ass." Scott grumbled, folding his arms.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left. Those last few days... I was pretty messed up. I didn't want you to get messed up anyway." Ramona apologized, looking at the both of you.
"I kinda got messed up anyway." Scott admitted, keeping his gaze down.
"I tried to make you feel better. I wasn't just going to stand around and watch you spiral into depression." You chimed in, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"You're both so tough." Ramona sighed, looking down. "But, guys, I wish I could have- I mean- I would've stayed, but I think that might've been worse."
"But you came back." Scott stated, hope shining in his eyes. "...you came back for me."
"I... had to come back. But I came back for me." Ramona corrected, making him a little confused.
"So... you left for you... you came back for you..." Scott mumbled, trying to understand.
"Yes, I'm selfish. I've dabbled in being a bitch. But listen... I came back because... because I'm always the one who leaves. I could never say goodbye." Ramona began, trying to explain.
"I get it. You didn't want to hurt anyone." You nodded, and she turned to look at you. "People will do anything to avoid hurting those they love, especially if it's themselves. So, instead, they do it indirectly, by leaving."
"Yeah... that's... exactly it." Ramona was a bit surprised at what you said. Someone understood. "How did you-"
"I don't want to hurt my friends or family, either. But, sometimes, there are things you need to say, no matter how hard it is." You continued, and she looked back down. "And out of all of them, a goodbye is the hardest, and the most painful."
"I don't want to be that person anymore. So... I'm sorry, Scott. I'm sorry, Y/N. I came back to say I'm really sorry." Ramona finished, closing her eyes.
"You came back for yourself, Ramona. To make yourself say it. And that's the first step to making it right." You spoke, and she opened her eyes again, looking at you. "If you ever need help taking the next steps, I'll be there."
"Me, too." Scott agreed, giving her a smile. "As long as we're all together, we can take on anything."
"Yeah... Yeah! I came back to look you in the eyes, and to admit that-" Ramona stopped as Scott was about to kiss her, but was swiftly held back by you.
"Scott, no! If she needs to tell us something, then she needs to." You scolded, before looking at Ramona. "You were saying?"
"Ahem, to admit that I was a crummy girlfriend and I feel like an idiot for even trying to-" Ramona continued, before she was cut off again by yet another attempt by Scott to kiss her.
"Down, boy!" You ordered, locking Scott in a headlock, but not to the point it'd hurt his neck.
"Damn it, Ramona! This is probably all a dream, so why waste time talking about it? I forgive you already! Let's make out!" Scott begged, trying to break free.
"Dude, you died. Game overed. Kicked the bucket. Bit the dust. You got literally a sword through your chest." You explained, keeping him from moving.
"Yeah, you are actually dead." Ramona sighed, looking at him.
"Then I'm in heaven! You're an angel!" Scott cried, still trying to move.
"...no." Ramona shook her head, frowning a bit.
"And also, no. Because you won't be dead for long." You chimed in, pulling out the extra life again. "C'mon, let's get back to the real world and kick some ass!"
With that being said, you pushed the extra life onto Scott's chest, a bright flash of light enveloping the entire scene, and...
- Back to the Real World, baby! -
Scott's real body was now back and revived, and you and Ramona exited his subspace. "Alright, back to business." You said, cracking your knuckles.
"You." Gideon said, looking at Ramona.
"Me." Ramona confirmed, battle stance ready.
"Ramona Flowers. The prodigal son returns..." Gideon sneered, turning his gaze Scott, and then you. "And the self-proclaimed hero as well."
"Is that chick a dude?" Someone from the audience whispered, likely referring to Ramona.
"I'm googling her as we speak." Someone replied, their phone on hand.
"Should we keep playing, or...?" Envy asked from the stage.
"Take five, baby. We won't be long." Gideon stated, dismissing her.
"Hey, guy. Apparently you're not dead." Wallace called out running over to Scott.
"Maybe we should just go home, so we can keep you that way." Stacey suggested, looking around.
"Nah, I'm good, Stace." Scott smiled, as he jumped and got on his feet, ready to fight.
"Well, then. Back to Plan A." Gideon stated, pressing a button on the remote he held.
Above the stage, a machine with 7 cryogenic chambers in the shape of crystals began to come down. Six of the seven were occupied by girls, while the seventh was empty. It didn't take a genius to figure out that the last chamber was for Ramona.
Everyone looked up at whatever that giant machine was, confused and amazed. "Gideon...?" Envy, with her arms crossed, called out.
"If she's a dude, I'm super gay." One of the guys from the crowd declared, again, likely referring to Ramona.
"Word..." Another guy agreed.
"Are those..." Scott began, realizing what the machine was for. "...your evil exes...?"
"Yes... the answer is no." Gideon smirked, and a small chuckle escaped his mouth. "You might say they're the once who got away. They're cryogenically frozen, awaiting the future day when they'll all go out with me. I love them."
Then, Gideon's hands began to glow, aiming it at you, Scott, and Ramona. "...and you, Ramona, are about to join them!" And a bright yellow blast of energy fired at you, which hit everyone close to it. It didn't cause any type of physical damage, but left the Glow on everyone's heads.
Almost everyone, that is. "What the-?! You've gotta be kidding." Gideon gasped, as his attack didn't affect you at all.
"It won't work on me." You said, shaking your head. "I already got rid of evil me. There's no negativity you can cause in me. I'm my own master now."
Electricity began to crackle all around you, and your chain was glowing bright blue, so were your eyes. You could feel the power surging through you, and you felt unstoppable. "Now, let's end this, Graves."
"Fine. I'll break you, then your friends' relationship." Gideon stated, the Power of Love held tight in his grip.
- Final Round! Y/N Rowe! VS! Gideon Graves! Fight! -
The two of you lunged at each other, clashing with the Power of Love and the Power of Connection, electricity crackling around the area. Your chain wrapped around his leg, and you swung him over your shoulder, slamming him onto the ground.
"Okay, why are we still fighting this lunatic? I mean, you left!" Scott, affected by the Glow said, looking over at Ramona. "Nobody said anything about defeating your ex-girlfriend's ex-boyfriends!"
"See? You're totally on my side!" Gideon stated, smirking and going for a swing at Scott.
"Focus on me, Gideon!" You yelled, using the chain to pull the Power of Love from the trajectory.
"First of all, Scott, look at me. I'm right here. I came back. Second... Y/N is the one finishing what you started." Ramona began to argue back at him.
"Who started this? It wasn't me!" Scott retorted, growing frustrated.
"She started it! It'll all her fault, Scott! Everything!" Gideon added fuel to the flames, as he went for a swing at you.
"Stop making things more complicated!" You snapped, blocking his attacks and countering with an electric uppercut, sending him into the air.
"Maybe this was a mistake." Ramona spat, and you could tell the bond between her and Scott was starting to weaken.
"Yeah? Maybe you should just go back to wherever the hell you were!" Scott shouted, glaring at her.
"Guys, don't say that, you don't mean it!" You pleaded, but they didn't listen.
"Maybe I should've listened to Wallace and just got over you!" Scott yelled, pointing an accusatory finger at Ramona.
"Maybe I should've dated Y/N instead!" Ramona retorted, her voice full of anger and rage.
"Both of you! C'mon, Gideon is manipulating you to- Wait, what was that about me?" You questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"You two are adorable. I can see your relationship is really working." Gideon taunted, as he landed and went for a slash at you, which you dodged.
"Really? 'Cause, I mean, it seems like they're fighting." Someone in the crowd mentioned.
"That was a mockery." You stated, as you punched Gideon across the face, knocking him down.
"Thanks, person that Envy kissed!" That same person replied, making a thumbs up.
"No one's letting me live that down..." You embarrassingly mumbled.
"Why are we glowing? Glowing sucks!" Scott complained as he held his head.
"Ask him. He invented it." Ramona stated, pointing at Gideon.
"You know why I started the league? When I realized she wasn't coming back, I got wasted. I posted a drunken rant on Craigslist..." Gideon revealed, getting back up.
"You what?" Ramona was caught off guard, her eyes widening.
"That's just petty." You remarked, shaking your head.
"I never expected a bunch of your actual evil ex-boyfriends to reply! Who the hell dates seven evil dudes?!" Gideon shouted, holding the Power of Love tightly.
"Better question, who makes a league of evil exes just because of one girl?" You questioned, raising an eyebrow. "And additionally, thinks that beating the current boyfriend will win her back?"
"And y'know, maybe they weren't so bad when I was dating them! Maybe they turned into assholes later! Like you?" Ramona spat, narrowing her eyes.
"You're the common denominator, baby!" Gideon laughed, and thrust the Power of Love towards you, which she dodged by jumping over it.
"Why do you even want me back? You spent the whole relationship pushing me away!" Ramona shouted, and Gideon seemed to pause at that.
"I wha? Insolent whore! Don't sully my memories!" Gideon retorted, his eyes burning with rage as he went for another swing.
"Don't call her that!" You yelled, intercepting the attack, grabbing the blade, and sending a charge of voltage through the blade, shocking him.
"This blows." Ramona said, her expression showing how fed up she was.
"No kidding! You go any bright ideas?" Scott asked, equally as frustrated.
"Just the usual one." Ramona said as she began to glow bright yellow.
"Oh, not again!" You groaned, as you saw her body fade.
"Ramona-" Scott, with his anger settling down.
"Maybe I can't change." Ramona stated, her body being even more transparent.
"Don't go-" Scott tried to plead, but it was too late.
"I'm really sorry for what I'm about to do, apologies in advance!" You interrupted, sending a thin wave of electricity from the tip of your fingers.
It hit Ramona, and the Glow vanished. What the shock did was just temporarily stun her, but it worked. It didn't hurt, just a mild sting. If said sting came from a taser, that is.
