Leia rose to her feet when Ronan's arrival was suddenly announced. Her eyes darted toward the grand mahogany door, and finally, a tall and well-built man walked in. There was a deep scar running through his left eye, making her realize how many battles he had led so far. Some must have been the deadliest.
The moment her eyes met Ronan's, she felt something strange. His gaze was devoid of any emotions. It lacked any warmth.
'Seems like he's worse than Lucien,' she thought.
"Brother Ronan, seems like you have won your 21st battle too," Kieran said as he walked to him and hugged him.
Leia noticed that Ronan didn't hug him back. But she did feel Kieran whisper something in his ear.
"Who's this woman?" Ronan asked as Kieran stepped away.
"I am Leia Solayne. Lucien bought me from the auction house," she gave her introduction. "I got to learn from Kieran about the intentions of you three."
"So, the rumors of the last she-wolf weren't just mere gossip," Ronan pronounced and took a step closer to Leia. "Our intentions are simple. We want pure-blooded pups," he said.
Ronan kept looking into her eyes, but he didn't say anything to her. Instead, he turned away and took a seat on the couch.
"Where's Lucien?" Ronan inquired as he sat on the couch.
Leia knitted her brows together, unable to understand what Ronan exactly was. He was cold, no doubt, but he was different from Lucien.
She saw how he drank the water while not looking at her anymore.
"You can sit on the couch," Kieran told her.
"Hmm." She passed him a small smile. As she was about to sit, Ronan stopped her.
"Omega, you are a slave for us. You can't sit at the same level as us. Go to your room and prepare for tonight. I am the first one who will have you," Ronan pronounced with authority.
Leia chuckled at his words. "You are mistaken, Ronan. I am not doing what your brother has bought me for," she said and turned on her heels to go upstairs.
She was startled to see Ronan in front of her. His hand moved to the back of her head as he bore his gaze into hers.
"Ronan, don't hurt Leia," she heard Kieran warning him.
"I will come to you tonight," Ronan repeated those words, making sure she would feed them into her mind. But he underestimated her. She clenched her fists hard but couldn't utter the words that were on the tip of her tongue.
He let go of his grip from her head while she went upstairs.
She closed the door and leaned against it. "Ronan and Lucien are somewhat similar," she murmured and went to the bed. A fear crept through her. Her heart was thundering against her chest. Ronan didn't understand her consent was important too.
Tears escaped from her eyes, but she quickly wiped them, not wanting to feel weak. But they kept pouring down her cheeks. She had begun missing the freedom she lost.
'Don't cry, Leia,' finally, her wolf, Zei, spoke.
'Zei, how are you feeling?' she asked.
'Much better. The wolfsbane had weakened me,' Zei replied. 'The three brothers want you to breed for them. Let's run away. We can try for it.'
Leia realized it was the only way to be away from these brothers. While Kieran was trying to protect her, he had no power over his older brothers. She couldn't fight Lucien and Ronan when it came to their strength. Making them understand seemed almost impossible.
She got down from the bed and locked the door from the inside. This room didn't have any balcony, so she opened the window and looked out of it.
'We can jump,' she told Zei.
'Yes.' Her wolf immediately agreed. She climbed to the other side of the window before taking a jump. She transformed in the air into her wolf form and landed on the ground easily.
Her wolf had white, snowy fur and gleaming golden eyes. She ran in the opposite direction of the mansion, only to find a vast field. She needed to make sure no one would see her, or else her escape plan might fail.
After running for more than thirty minutes, she finally entered the forest and took a moment to breathe. Even though the wolfsbane had left her system, Zei hadn't fully recovered yet. Again, her wolf caught speed, but her eyes suddenly started shutting.
'Zei, what's happening?' she asked her wolf as she slumped to the ground.
'I can't keep up, Leia. I think...' Before Zei could finish, she transformed back into her human form, completely naked. Her throat parched from sudden thirst.
"Did Lucien give me a drug?" she murmured and tried moving. She had to shift back, but she couldn't do it.
"Your body hasn't recovered fully, Leia." She paled upon hearing Lucien's voice. She felt him moving closer.
"Don't look at me," she tilted her head and saw amusement dancing on his face. "Please," she urged this time. She didn't know why, but suddenly, her eyes had turned misty.
Lucien took off his long overcoat and draped it over her before picking her up from the ground. Her eyes met his in anger. "It's all because of you. I don't want to be a breeder. Tell me, if you had a sister and someone did this to her, would you even like it?"
Lucien simply stared at her before she saw his lips parting. "I thought you were intriguing, Leia. You fought like a tigress earlier. I thought you would play a better game than this. Don't give me scenarios that aren't even real. As the last she-wolf, you should be ready to serve us," he said.
"I hate you. I hate you the most," she shouted with her remaining strength and even hit his chest. "I will not bend down and let you have me. You will regret buying me."
"I think you'll regret saying these words," Lucien said and began walking, looking straight. Leia, too, averted her gaze from him.
