"I possess the same blood group," Leia revealed to them.
All the three were shocked to hear that.
"Really, Leia?" Kieran asked.
"Yes," she nodded. "I can donate blood to Ronan. Just give me two minutes—I'll change into something suitable."
Without waiting for a response, Leia darted into the mansion. Lucien turned to Kieran quickly. "Get in the car. I'll bring her."
He followed Leia inside and waited just outside her room. Within a minute, she emerged in a simple sweatshirt and trousers, ready to go.
"Let's go," Lucien said, holding Leia's hand out of urgency and rushed outside to the car.
Upon arriving the hospital in the city, Leia was taken into the emergency room, where Ronan surgery was still ongoing.
"Miss Leia, please lie on the bed here," the doctor instructed after Leia wore a hospital gown, gesturing toward a gurney placed parallel to where Ronan lay unconscious under bright surgical lights.
Leia laid down and a nurse sterilized her hand from where needle to be inserted in her vein.
"We're setting up a direct transfusion," the doctor said quickly. "The patient's body's rejecting stored blood. Your rare type is our only shot."
"Sure," Leia said.
The IV tube was linked from her to Ronan.
"Relax. Nothing is going to happen," the doctor told Leia in a soft tone, monitoring her vitals closely as well.
Outside the emergency operation theatre, both Lucien and Kieran were standing with tense expressions on their faces.
"Will Ronan be fine?" Kieran asked, looking at his elder brother.
"Of course, he will be," Lucien said with a positive hope. However, deep down he was a bit worried and scared for Ronan. This was the first time he got such a grave injury that brought him in a hospital in the emergency.
Kieran sat on the chair nearby, praying everything would go well. He had a lot in his mind that how Ronan ended up in such a state. Where did he exactly go to return like this? And why Lucien didn't keep a check on him? But arguing over all of this, wasn't a nice idea.
Twenty minutes later, Leia was brought outside in the wheeled bed and taken to the wardroom.
Lucien and Kieran went there too while Caleb stayed outside the operating theatre.
"Sister, how's my brother? And why is Leia unconscious?" Lucien asked, his eyes turning red in fury.
"Please calm down. Miss Leia was given an injection to rest by the doctor. As for your brother, his blood requirement is fulfilled. The surgery is still ongoing, so I can't..." Her remaining words caught in her throat as Lucien grabbed her neck, blocking the air into her wind.
"Lucien!" Kieran grabbed his arm, "leave the sister!"
Lucien let go of the nurse's neck, who fell to the floor, gasping for air.
"Have you fucking lost your mind?" Kieran shouted at his brother. "How could you do this to a hospital staff? Calm yourself, okay?"
He then moved to the nurse and helped her stand up. "Please forgive my brother. I am sorry on his behalf," Kieran apologized to her, lowering his head.
The nurse was aware of Lucien's status, so she simply walked out of the room after checking Leia.
"How could you act like this to someone, who's a mere staff? You just lose your temper at times like this. I'm sure Ronan will be fine," Kieran told his brother, turning his voice softer this time.
"Fuck! Stay here," Lucien angrily said and walked out of the room.
Kieran sighed deeply. "Why does he always act like this?" he murmured and moved toward Leia, who was lying unconscious on the bed. Sitting next to her, he held Leia's hand.

Over an hour later, the surgery finally concluded. The doctor emerged with a reassuring smile.
"He's out of danger now. The timely blood transfusion made a huge difference. You should thank the young lady who didn't hesitate to donate," the surgeon said, placing a hand on Lucien's shoulder before walking away with the rest of the medical team.
Lucien exhaled sharply as he finally got some relief.
Once Ronan was moved to a special wardroom, Lucien instructed Caleb to inform Kieran. Caleb gave a respectful bow and headed off to deliver the message.
The same nurse was jotting the vitals on the cardboard and Lucien turned to her. "I'm sorry for my earlier action," he apologized.
"Hmm." The nurse didn't say anything on that. "Please don't let more than two people in the wardroom. The patient is still in recovery phase, that's why. By the morning, more people can visit your brother," she explained to him.
"Sure. Thank you, nurse," Lucien expressed his gratitude this time.
As she stepped out, Kieran walked in and hurried toward the bed. "Thank goodness. He is fine now," he whispered and looked at Lucien. "I can stay here with Ronan."
"No, you should go home. Take Leia with you when she will be awake," Lucien instructed him.
"I'll send Leia with Caleb," Kieran said. "I want to stay the night here," he asserted.
Lucien gazed at his youngest brother, but remained quiet.
"Where did Ronan go to end up like this? Did you send him for any mission?" Kieran inquired.
"I didn't send him anywhere. He wasn't home since the day you left for your business trip. I tried connecting with him, but he was out of reach," Lucien said, slumping to a chair, next to the bed.
"You should have kept a check on Ronan. You know that whenever he returns from work, he disappears as his trauma from the past haunts him. And the attack on him wasn't an ordinary one," Kieran said.
"We will find about the attack once Ronan wakes up," Lucien stated. "As for his trauma, I am well aware of it. I wanted him to stay at the mansion. I have no idea why he disappeared suddenly," he muttered, feeling frustrated.
"Just go home. Leia will feel bad if we leave her alone again. And for now, she trusts you the most and feels comfortable around you," Lucien opined.
