Life is better.

So, are you liking the environment of your new school? And...did you make any friends? I mean, in this school, you won't be having any filthy, arrogant and clever friends. You'll get the chance to be friends with good people, who belong to a good family." Said Riya, while smiling.

"I...I am really happy to go to the...Blake highschool...mom. And, the friends...they were also really good....they were also really polite to me." Said Disha, hesitatingly. "Oh, but..why are you hesitating so much, dear? Do you think that I'll hit you again? If you're worried about that, then you should...just relax. I...I'll not hit you from now on." Said Riya in a soft voice.

"O..ok mom, I..I'll try my level best to not force you to hit me." Said Disha. As Disha reached home and went inside her room, she started crying. Lily's room was beside Disha's room, as she was her babysitter. She dashed towards Disha's room, as soon as she heard her crying.

"Oh dear, you are crying again? Why, are you crying now? Wh...did anyone bully you at school? I mean, this was your first day, right? Maybe...you can...try to be friends with them?" Said Lily, worriedly. "No, mam. Nothing...happened at school today. Everyone was polite to me and even wanted to have lunch with me...the only thing that I didn't like about that school was....it's vibe. I just didn't feel that comfortable...it...was not that good." Said Disha, while stammering.

"Wh...why are you talking like this? Ar...don't tell me that, you were severely bullied in school and, now you're lying." Said Lily. "I...I swear to God, I was not bullied by anyone. The atmosphere was great but, I felt like something was not there. My friends, they...weren't there anymore. Back then, whenever I thought about going to school, I was excited, and wanted to go to school as soon as possible..but now, I just don't feel like going to school." Said Disha.

"Oh, so you're sad about that? You should have told me before. Well, there's nothing I can do for you now. The best thing that I can advise you to do is, try to make new friends. Yo..you can't go back to India now. It's impossible! Your parents...they'll beat you to death if you ask them to send you back to India again. So..I think that..you should just try to fit in with your new surroundings, now." Said Lily.

"I..all my life, I have tried my level best to fit in. But my parents, they still don't love me. No matter how good my grades are, no matter..what I do..they...they'll never ever love me. And, I have understood that, now." Said Disha. "Maybe, you can talk to your parents about this. Maybe..they'll allow you to go to India for some time." Said Lily.

"Do you think that I can do that? I mean, they'll not beat me, will they?" Asked Disha, in a low voice. "Maybe, they won't! Yo..you just need to try. I know that it's a bit...scary but..you don't have a choice, do you? So..you should go to the living room and talk to them, now." Said Lily.

Disha went to the living room, as Lily told her to go. As soon as she entered the living room, she saw her parents sitting in the living room and talking to eachother over tea. "Mom, dad...I want to talk to you both about something." Said Disha in alow voice. "What is it now, Disha? What do you want? Did anyone bully you in school or something? Were the teachers rude to you, today?" Asked Abhishek, irritatingly.

"No. Everything was fine today. I just wanted to talk to you both, about my previous school. I...I miss my friends a lot, so I want to go back to India." Said Disha, with her head, facing the floor. "Uh...Abhishek..you don't need to worry about it. I'll talk to Disha.. she's just tensed." Said Riya, nervously. Abhishek glared at Riya and told her to stop speaking.

"So..who are your beloved friends, that you want to meet so much? I mean, why do you want to go to India, so much?" Asked Abhishek, sarcastically. "I...I...they are my bestfriends. Ayan and Digraj, they are the only friends I have. I..want to meet them eagerly, because they're my true friends." Said Disha, while stammering.

"Hmm? True friends huh? Isn't Digraj the one, who went against you, infront of the principal? Isn't he the reason why you're here? You won't be here, if he didn't say rubbish about you in the principal's office." Said Abhishek, while smirking. "No, he...he didn't mean it. And even if he did, I still want to meet him for one last time." Said Disha.

"So you love him or something? I mean, they're both boys, aren't they?" Asked Abhishek. "Dad, I have never had any female friend before. I..they never liked me because, I belong to a rich family. They...always bullied me in school and stayed away from me. I..didn't have a choice, so I became friends with, Ayan and Digraj." Said Disha.

"Hmm, so you..want to meet them, huh? Okay then, I'll send you back to India." Said Abhishek with a smile on his face. "Dad..really? Yo..you will send me to India, for real? I swear on God...I'll never ever disobey you and I'll always listen to you!" Said Disha, happily. "Yeah, yeah..I know that you'll always listen to me but..that's not the case right now. What I actually mean to say is, that..I'll send you to India, once you get a job and start earning. I'll send you to India when you'll become an adult, but not now." Said Abhishek, while he took a sip of his tea.

"What?! But..you said that you would send me to India, right away. Why...do I have to wait till I become an adult? I...do you think that they'll be there till my twenties? And, if you can't send me there for my schooling, then you should atleast send me there on a vacation, right?" Asked Disha, while she kneeled down infront of Abhishek.

"Disha, kneeling down would do you no good. I understand that, you're eager to meet your friends but, I can't send you there right now. It's just too complicated. After what you have done, it would be absolutely disrespectful for you to return back to that same school, again. People will think that we're cowards , who ran away because of our fear." Said Abhishek, while reading the newspaper.

"Why?! Why can't you both do something for me just this once!? I...all I want to do is, talk to them and give a proper farewell! Why do you care more about the society, than your own daughter!? Just because I am not a boy, does that make me lowly!?" Exclaimed Disha, while crying. Lily was standing outside the door, listening to every word Disha said. She came inside the room, and took Disha out of the living room. She didn't want Disha to get beaten again.
