Blair's POV.
The next day, I woke up to the sight of the beautiful Greek god in bed with me, though he was working on his laptop. I smiled and thanked God that today would be different but maybe I shouldn't have done that too soon.
"Good morning." I greeted and he simply nodded.
My nose caught a spicy aroma and I turned to the bedside drawer behind me and there was a tray of food.
"Did you bring this for me?" I asked with a smile.
"I asked the maids to bring it. I already had breakfast." He replied without even looking at me and my smile faded.
Other days when he's at home, we have meals together and today that's our anniversary, he decided to have breakfast alone and treating me like a total stranger. My eyes welled up immediately and I walked to the bathroom hurriedly before my tears would fall.
I came out already dressed up and had my breakfast quietly. Since I woke up, he didn't even look at me and just behaved too busy. I sighed and watched the television as there was nothing to do and kept glancing at him from time to time. Not a single word between us for hours and I regretted telling him to stay home with me today.
Finally, it was evening, time to go to the movies. I looked at my husband who was dressed in a white turtleneck sweater and black jean trousers and a pair of white trainers on his feet. He wore a black face cap on his head and a black nose mask that partially covered his face. Well he did that to hide his identity to avoid being seen by his fans. This guy was effortlessly handsome. Then I looked at myself in the mirror. I was dressed in a white gown that passed my knee a little, with no special style on it except a black belt which I wore on it. My hair was styled in my usual hairstyle and a pair of white flat shoes on my feet.
"Are you good to go?" He asked me and I nodded and we both left the bedroom.
We both got into one of his many cars, a black G-wagon and we were driven by his chauffeur. Our whole ride was quiet until we arrived at the theater.
"What movie?" He asked as we got to the posters that displayed the movie titles, their genres and their scheduled screen time.
"Huh?" I asked him too, I wasn't expecting him to ask me anything.
"What movie would you like to watch? Any particular genre you have in mind?" He said and I looked at the posters. All the movies in the romance genre were his movies. He is known as Hollywood's King of romance. If only he'll show me a bit of that romance.
I looked at the other genres and I could see some of his movies there and I smiled. My husband is very talented. He acts all genres of movies; historical, modern, thriller, action, romance, humor and so on, well except horror. I've never seen him in a horror movie and I don't know why.
"Horror." I said and I saw him swallow for a reason I don't know.
"Are you sure? Fragile women don't watch horror movies." He said.
"I'm sure." I replied.
"Well don't get scared and start acting like a baby because I won't be your babysitter." He said sarcastically.
Although his words hurt me but I decided to let it go and smiled at him instead.
In a while, we were already seated with our separate cups of popcorn. We're a couple and we should be sharing a cup of popcorn, but that isn't the case for us. The movie was already starting and Ivan was busy looking around the room. I sighed and fixed my eyes back on the screen. The movie was already gone halfway and I don't think Ivan for once even glanced at the screen. He was busy doing God knows what on his phone.
"Why aren't you watching the movie?" I asked. I couldn't call his name here in public, or I'll draw everyone's attention.
"You're the one who wanted to watch a movie, not me." He replied with his eyes glued to his phone.
"Please..." I pleaded and he looked at the screen after some seconds.
"Thank you." I said.
I watched him and then I think I saw him flinch or maybe I didn't see correctly. The next thing that happened shocked me to my bones.
Ivan shouted like a scared little child as he covered his eyes with his hands. Because I was too shocked, I didn't know what to do at that instant.
"Has that scene passed?" He asked and then I was able to speak.
"Yes." I replied and he shakily removed his hands from his eyes then he shouted again, this time even louder than the first time as he threw his cup of popcorn away. I covered his mouth trying to shut him up.
"Calm down." I said to him.
Oh Christ, he's scared of horror movies. That's why he never acts them.
Everyone was already looking at us weirdly and so I started apologizing.
"Let's go home. If you can't stand it any longer." I said.
"Who told you I can't stand it. I'm watching it." He said and looked at the screen and there came the loudest shout from him as he jumped on his seat. While trying to hold back my laughter, I tried to calm him down but it didn't work out. The scary scene was pretty long and he refused to close his eyes. I found myself torn in doing three things, laughing, calming him and apologizing to people.
After a while, he suddenly kept quiet and I sighed in relief but almost got a heart attack when I saw everyone's surprised eyes on us. I looked at Ivan and oh no, his face cap and mask were no longer on him, his identity has been revealed.
He gave an awkward smile and one girl fainted on spot.
Gosh, it was only an awkward smile and she fainted what if he gave his charming smile.
"Ivan Blake!!!!!!" They all screamed and the movie turned into a fan meet.
Camera lights and clicks from all angles and Ivan had to run out of the room to get space. The crowd was even faster than me as they ran after Ivan into the main big compound of the theater. I arrived there, breathing heavily as I tried to catch my breath and good Lord, the whole theater had already covered him. I managed to push through the crowd to him and he was there smiling as he signed autographs and I stood there feeling proud of him.
"Mr. Blake, who is the woman you were watching a movie with?" Someone asked and Ivan looked at me. The look on his face shows that he didn't know what to reply. He can't say that I'm his wife, I don't even look presentable so I decided to help him out.
"I'm his employee. Today is my birthday so Mr Blake decided to grant my birthday wish." I said and smiled at him and he smiled back and continued with his fans.
I continued watching him, loosing track of everything until I was sounded out by the beep sound of my phone. I brought out my phone from my bag and saw that it was a text from Ivan and I looked at him to find him putting his phone in his pocket.
Jeez! I can't believe that I didn't even realize the moment he became busy with his phone.
I tapped on the message and it read, "call the guards." Without the bodyguards, he won't be able to get out of here easily. So I called one of the bodyguards and shortly, they were here. They handled the crowd and made way for Ivan to get out of the crowd and I quickly followed too.
"Phew!" Ivan sighed in relief the moment we entered the car and the chauffeur started driving.
"Here." I said as I gave him his face cap and his mask and he chuckled.
"I can't believe I blew my cover myself." He said as he collected them from me and I smiled at him.
"Pull over at a fine eatery." He said.
"Yes sir." The chauffeur replied.
"Why pull over at an eatery? Since we're heading home, we can have dinner at home." I said.
"I'm hungry and can't wait for us to get home. Is that a crime?" He replied and I shook my head.
"Is he indirectly taking me out on a date or are we really pulling over because he's hungry?" I thought as I looked at him and smiled.
He became busy with his phone while I kept stealing glances at him. His phone rang and he answered it. I don't know what the caller told him but the next thing I heard is, "you can tell her yourself." Ivan said and he gave me his phone which I looked at confused.
"Dan wants to speak to you." He said and I collected the phone from him. Daniel Pitt is Ivan's personal assistant who is more like a brother to him.
"Hi, Dan." I said.
"Happy wedding anniversary to you and Ivan!" Dan's happy voice rang from the other end of the call. He's also another person that knows about my marriage to Ivan.
"Thank you." I replied.
"I hope you're having a good time with your husband." He said.
"Yeah." I replied.
"No, you're not. I saw the news." He said.
"What news?" I asked.
"Check the internet. Bye." He said and the call ended.
I returned the phone to Ivan and hurriedly checked the internet and good God, the internet has gone crazy with Ivan's pictures of the theater everywhere and so many comments. Those who managed to get his autographs were boasting about it while others who couldn't get it were giving jealous comments. I smiled at the thought that I've got the person they're fighting over by my side. Well even though our relationship is nothing to write home about.
"Aren't you coming?" Ivan asked. He was already out of the car and has worn his face cap and mask and was now looking at me with a raised brow. I didn't even know that we've arrived at the eatery.
I stepped out of the car and we walked into the eatery with Ivan ahead and me following behind him.
I wasn't even paying attention to what the waitress was telling him because I was busy looking around.
"Let's go." Ivan said to me and I followed him. Seems like the waitress didn't figure out his identity that's why we were able to leave there quickly.
We entered into a private room and I sat immediately on the chair but surprisingly, he sat beside me and got busy with his phone again. He's always busy. After a while, our food arrived and I started digging into the enticing delicacy before me. Ivan took off his cap and mask and also began to eat. I stole a glance at him and smiled and I brought out my phone and tried to sneakily take a picture with him but I got caught quickly as he said, "I'm not scary. If you want to take a picture with me, just say it."
I was about to speak but then he spoke again, "what are you waiting for? Let's take the picture."
I brought out my phone and ended up taking more than one picture with him. As I was about to take the last one, he looked away for a reason I don't know and just as I was about to keep my phone, he brought his face back. I looked at him, getting lost in his golden eyes. He looked at me, probably wondering why I was staring at him and "click", I heard the click of the camera. I quickly looked at my phone to find my thumb on the snap button. Shit! I looked at Ivan and he was back with his food. I sighed and cursed myself silently and when I looked at the photo, I was speechless. The picture was so breathtaking, perfect and held a romantic pose. I fell in love with the picture immediately and saved it as my phone wallpaper. I looked at him and smiled again. Although we weren't speaking to each other, I wished this moment wouldn't end. After a while, he stopped eating and waited for me to finish too and when I was done, we both left the eatery and we went back home.
