Chapter 11.

Blair's POV.

For days now, I've been focusing on completely getting rid of Ivan from my heart. To be true to myself, it's difficult. This man is someone I gave my whole heart to, but I'll slowly take back my heart from him. Now that I'm blunt to him, it's been helpful to me. If it were before, I'd be in deep pain now that he's away on a business trip and I haven't heard a word from him. My phone rang and I looked at it. Speak of the devil and he called. Why is he calling me all of a sudden? He didn't call me for three days since he has been on his business trip.

I answered the call and Ivan's voice rang from the other end, "Hi, B."

Is he over the moon? He sounds happy.

"How are you doing?" He asked.

Did he hurt his head? He never asks about my well-being, why is he doing so now?

"Are you there, B?" He asked.

"Go straight to the point, why did you call?" I replied.

"At least answer my question. I asked how are you doing?" He said.

"Why do you care?" I replied, because I don't just get it.

He sighed. "Please, B. Let's not start this today." He said tiredly.

"I'm waiting for your reply, B." He said after a few seconds.

"Get straight to the point, Ivan." I replied and he sighed.

"Alright, fine. There's a party that will be happening tonight, I want you to attend." He said.

"I won't attend." I replied as soon as the last word left his mouth.

"I know you won't want to attend it, you hate parties, but mom doesn't want to understand. I've already explained this to her, but you know her, she won't listen." He replied.

I knew it, it's because of mom. Although he has once invited me to a party and I turned him down, since then, he has never bothered to ask me again.

"B, I know you hate me now. But I'm sure you don't hate me that much to wish for my obituary. Please attend, or else mom will kill me." He said.

"Deal with your problem, why should I care?" I replied and ended the call.

Gosh, this guy is driving me nuts.

He called again and I ignored it and he kept calling. This guy is determined to blow up my phone with calls. Finally, I had no choice but to answer it.

"WHAT?!" I yelled and I can tell he's shocked because he was quiet for some seconds.

"L...l...listen, B...I know I don't have the right to ask you for a favor, but please help me this time...I beg you...If you don't want to do it for me, then do it for mom. Please..." He begged.

I rubbed my temples tiredly. God, what do I do?

"Alright. But I'm not doing this for you, it's for mom and dad." I replied and he sighed in relief.

"Thank you, B. Thank you so much." He said.

"I'll text you the venue and time. Please go without me, I'll arrive late." He continued.

"And oh, I almost forgot. You'll need a pass to get in. Go into my study and check my table or drawers, you'll find it there, take it. Don't worry about me, I don't need a pass. I'm Ivan Blake, even my name is a pass." He added.

"Why would I worry about you? Do what you like." I scoffed and he chuckled.

"Thank you. See you at the party. Bye." He said and I ended the call.

What do I wear? I don't have anything in mind. I opened my gigantic wardrobes and sighed at the clothes in them. I'll pick one of them, I'm not in the mood to go shopping.

I went into Ivan's study and I regretted agreeing to go to the party. The whole place is a mess, everything is just so scattered and disorganized. His table is filled with countless papers and files, even the sofa, and also the floor. How do I find the pass in this place? There's one thing about Ivan, he never arranges. If you let him, he'll flip the whole house upside down. Although he never arranges, his study has never been this disorganized. What the heck happened here?

I began searching the whole place and after an hour, I finally found it. I began to walk out of the room, and something in me couldn't ignore the mess. That's one thing about me, I can't enter into a messy place and leave without cleaning it up. I put the pass in the pocket of my skirt and rolled up the sleeves of my blouse and began fixing up the whole place.

At the end of two hours, I smiled at the masterpiece I've turned the room into and walked out of the room, already exhausted.

Getting back to my bedroom, I picked up my phone from the bed and read the details Ivan sent to me and began preparing for the party. Soon I was done and I went into one of Ivan's cars, a black buggati and the chauffeur drove me to the venue.

I arrived at the magnificent event hall that made feel almost inferior. The entire parking lot was filled with expensive cars and high-class people coming out from their cars, their wealth speaking from their appearance. I walked to the entrance and met two security men who were puzzled to see me. Their eyes carrying the words, "how did you get here?" I don't blame them though, looking at me, you'll surely give me those eyes. I was dressed in a long simple dinner dress, lemon in color, with no attractive style on it. I let my blonde hair fall to my back and still kept my bangs on, and I had no make-up on my face.

I gave them the pass and one collected the pass from me, while the other smirked. "How did you get this pass? Are you sure you didn't steal it?" He asked.

"Stop it, bro. She might be a millionaire in disguise." The first one said.

"Millionaire? I doubt it." The other one smirked.

"Please, go in, ma'am. Don't mind him." The first one told me and I smiled at him and went in.

I opened my mouth in awe as I stepped into the hall. The classy hall was a world of luxury and poise that boasts of high ceilings adorned with intricate moldings and crystal chandeliers. Polished marble floors that gleam under the soft, warm lighting. Elegant drapery in rich, jewel-toned hues that frame the expansive windows. A neutral color palette with subtle accents of gold, silver, and cream. Comfortable seating areas with plush furnishings and ornate details. The hall's focal point is a grand staircase, perfect for making a dramatic entrance. The adjacent balcony offers a bird's-eye view of the hall, ideal for speeches or performances. The place is filled with prominent people. The party is a book launch of a popular writer. With the looks of things, he'll get a contract of commercialization of his book into a movie before the end of today.

I found a comfortable place to sit and settled there. As I sat and sipped a glass of juice, I fed my eyes with the splendor in the hall. Suddenly, I heard noise coming from outside, particularly screams from women. As I listened more, I heard, "Ivan Blake!!!" Looks like the Greek god has arrived. Few minutes later, the hall became noisy too as Ivan walked in. I couldn't see him because he was already covered with crowd. The noise began to cool off and the crowd reduced as Ivan made his way to God knows where. My phone popped with notifications from social media and I checked it. Some diehard fans had already uploaded photos of Ivan from this evening. Undeniably, he's looking dropdead gorgeous tonight. When they say God blessed someone with beauty, it's Ivan. He always look good any day, any time. I smiled and put my phone back into my purse and looked around me. That was when I saw Danielle a few steps away from me with a glass of wine in her hand, and before I could process anything, she poured the wine on me.

"You ruined my dress." I said, standing up and looking at my ruined dress.

"I'll not just ruin your dress, I'll ruin your life if you don't let go of my Ivan." She said and I scoffed. Is this woman kidding me? I'll gladly give Ivan to her.

"Did you just scoff at me? How dare a lowly thing like you scoff at me?" She said, angrily.

"I'm lowly, but at least I'm not trying to snatch someone's husband." I replied.

"What? You think Ivan loves you?" She laughed. "He doesn't. Why will Ivan be with someone like you? He'll divorce you soon."

She's right, me and Ivan may eventually get divorced. But for the time being, I'm not gonna let her shit on me.

"No, we won't get divorced. He loves me. Didn't you see how he proved it to you that day in front of the house?" I smirked and she furiously raised her hand to slap me.
