Chapter 14.

Ivan's POV.

I entered into the house feeling agitated for a reason I can't figure out.

"You brat, is upstairs the first place you should be heading to right now?" Mom's voice halted me.

I sighed and turned to mom who was standing at the entrance of the kitchen, looking like she's been waiting for me to come into the house.

"I apologize for the trouble, mom." I said.

"Why do you keep such people around you? What's between you and her that gave her the right to come into your house and then head straight into your bedroom?" Mom hissed.

"There's nothing between us. I'm sorry, mom. It won't happen again." I said and walked pass her into the kitchen.

B was putting on an apron and was so engrossed in her cooking. She touched her forehead and cursed. "Oh, I can't believe I'm so sweaty already." She hissed at herself and continued what she was doing. I stood there, admiring her which was odd to me, I never did that before. I can't believe I didn't notice this rare gem in our one year of marriage. Well that's because I deliberately closed my eyes to not see her. And I swear, I didn't mean to close my eyes, but I had to, for a reason. But now, I've opened my eyes and I hope it's a right decision. I pray I don't have to shut my eyes again.

I don't know what happened to her, but she turned to my direction and sneezed.

"You're here." She said, finally noticing me.

I coughed lightly, clearing my throat. "I'm sorry for the trouble Danielle caused you. If she disrespected you, I apologize for that." I said and she raised a brow at me, looking at me from my head to my toes.

"I mean it." I added.

"Okay, okay." She said and faced the cooker, stirring the food in the pot.

I noticed the loosened belt of her apron and walked behind her. I loosened the belt completely and gently tied it back. Surprised by my action, she turned and looked at me and I smiled at her.

"I'll get going now." Mom said.

Oh, fuck! I completely forgot that mom is still here.

"Really? Who'll keep me company till the food is ready?" B asked.

"Ivan is here." Mom smiled.

"Ivan? Oh jeez. Being alone is a lot better than being with Ivan." B said quietly to herself but I definitely heard her.

This girl...you're totally wrong, I'm the best company one can ever have.

"Well at least wait for the food." She said to mom.

"Charles called so I have to go home. My husband loves me so much he can't let me out of his sight for long." Mom replied.

"Why so suddenly?... Alright, I'll see you off." B said, moving her hand to turn off the cooker.

"Don't turn it off. Just go on with your cooking, I can go on my own." Mom replied.

"Ivan, go see mom off." B said to me.

"Don't bother." Mom replied.

It's obvious, mom wants me and B to spend time together alone. But will this possessed B let it happen?

"Bye." Mom smiled and left hurriedly before B could object again.

B sighed and turned on the next cooker, putting a frying pan on it.

"Aren't you gonna leave?" She asked.

"Ummm...about that...I don't plan on leaving. I plan on staying here and help you out." I replied.

"I don't need any help, and especially not yours." She said, her tone, emotionless.

I knew it, this woman will never let mom's plan work out.

I took out my handkerchief from my pocket and wiped her forehead tenderly. She ignored me and just kept on being busy. She checked the food on the first cooker and went to the sink with a bowl and turned on the tap. Then came back to the second cooker to put the chicken drumsticks in the heated oil in the frying pan. Noticing that the bowl was filled up and running over, I walked to the sink and turned off the tap and brought the bowl of water to her. She collected the bowl of water from me and made use if it, then turned to me with crossed arms and skeptical eyes.

"What?" I asked her.

"Checking if you're possessed or not." She replied.

"Why are you so nice recently? What's the deal with your sudden niceness?" She asked and I chuckled.

"I'm your husband." I said.

"That's it. Why is my husband who's never nice to me suddenly nice to me?" She said.

"What's your motive? Are you planning to kill me?" She said, furrowing her brows and giving me a closer look.

Seriously?

"Why will you say such a thing, B? Why will I want to kill you?"

"Why else? So you can be free from this damned marriage like you've always said." She said.

Oh, God!

"I admit that I've been bad to you in the past, but the thought of killing you has never crossed my mind. Neither has it crossed my mind now, nor will it ever cross my mind." I replied.

"Then what's your reason for all this?" She asked.

"To win your heart back." I smiled and I'm really sincere about this.

"Oh, I see. Win my heart back and kill me very easily. What an amazing plan, you're..."

"B!" I interrupted her and she scoffed.

"I advise you to quit, because you'll never win my heart back." She said and continued with her cooking.

"I will, and I won't stop until I get you back." I replied.

"So help me God." I added in my mind because I know for sure that B will torture the life out of me.

My phone rang and I stepped out of the kitchen to take the call.

"Shoot." I said.

"Good morning, sir." Sara greeted.

"Morning." I replied.

"Will you be coming to the office today, sir?" She asked.

"No, why do you ask?" I said.

"Nevermind, sir. I emailed something to you, please check it and give an immediate feedback." She replied.

"Okay." I said and ended the call.

"Please, excuse me for a few minutes, B!" I said from the living room and she gave me no reply. I chuckled and went to my study.

Blair's POV.

After having my breakfast, I was chilling in the bedroom, watching an action movie. My phone rang and I checked it. It was an unknown number, but I decided to pick up.

"Hello." I said.

"Hi, Blair." The caller responded. He even knows my identity.

"Who am I speaking with, please?" I asked.

"The one you left in the party when he was off to the restroom and left without saying goodbye or even leaving a trace of you behind. You're a bad Cinderella." He said.

"David Patrick?" I said, shocked.

"Correct." He replied.

"H...how did you get my contact?" I asked.

"From my sister." He replied.

Oh, right. I called her earlier from her contact on the business card she gave me and thanked her for the help she rendered me. But even so, how is he able to get my contact that quick.

"You two live together?" I asked.

"No, but we were together when you called." He replied.

"Uhmm... Blair, can we meet up?" He asked.

"Definitely not now or today. Maybe some other time." I replied. I'm not in the mood to go anywhere.

"Please..." He begged.

"Okay, fine. Where do we meet?" I chuckled.

"Outside your house." He replied.

"What?!" I burst out in shock.

I ran downstairs to the living room and looked outside the window and he was really there, standing in front of his car. Oh, this man is crazy.

"I'll be there in five minutes." I said.

"I'm waiting." He replied and ended the call.

I went back into the bedroom and checked myself in the mirror. I'm not looking bad. I arranged my hair and wore a pair of sandals, grabbed my bag and went out of the house.

As soon as David saw me, he smiled.

"How do you know where I live?" I asked when I got to him.

"I know you're married to Ivan. And although Ivan is my worst enemy, it's still good to know where he lives. After all, we're colleagues in the entertainment world." He replied.

"Worst enemy?" I wondered.

"That's a story for another day." He replied and opened the car door for me to go in. I entered into the car and he turned to the other side and entered too and he drove.

He drove to a fine restaurant and we entered an already reserved room.

"We're friends now." He smiled and I laughed.

We began talking, getting to know each other. The waiter came in with the menu. "Just a glass of fruit juice." I placed my order without even looking at the menu.

"Won't you eat anything?" David asked.

"I'm not hungry." I replied and he nodded.

"Same order." He said and the waiter left.

"So what's your dream?" David asked and I kept quiet.

"I understand, you don't trust me yet." He said.

"I'll go first. I've achieved my dreams, well except one. It's not my dream though, it's my mom's dream for me. It's for me to marry a spectacular woman, and I hope I didn't find her too late." He continued, smiling at me.

"I don't have a dream, except my dad's dream for me, and it's for me to become an actress."

"Wow! So are you working towards it?" He said, amazed by my reply.

"No...I don't think I'll ever be able to achieve that dream... not in this lifetime." I said, my tone revealing my helplessness.

"What if you were offered a role in a movie?" He asked after some second.

"No one is offering me that, and besides who'll ever offer someone like me that kind of thing?" I replied, sipping my drink that just arrived.

"Me. I'm offering you the role of the main female lead in my movie." He said.

I laughed thinking he was joking, but there was no sign of joke on his face. He's serious?

"No, no, that's too much." I said.

"Isn't it your father's dream?" He asked.

It is, but my father didn't say I should be the main female lead for my first role in a movie. And gosh, you're the main male lead in this movie and it's the first movie you're not acting as a cameo character.

"I know you'll be perfect for this role. I'm sure your father must have seen some potentials in you that's why he wanted you to become an actress so that the potential doesn't go to waste, and I trust his judgement." He said.

"What if he's wrong?" I sighed.

"We'll never know if you don't try." David replied.

"What about Jessica who's announced to be the main female lead in the movie?" I asked, worriedly. Although I want this, I don't want to take someone else's position.

"All I need is for you to say yes and every other thing will be taken care of." He replied and I sighed.

"Come on, Blair, there's nothing for you to think about." He said.

Of course there's nothing to think about. I've already made my decision, but I can't just say yes hastily to a celebrity I just met who's been helping me out of the blue, or can I?

"Okay then, call me when you've decided." He said.

Oh, thank you, I'll do just that. But please don't change your mind before I say yes.

"Thank you." I smiled and he smiled back at me and we discussed some other things.

Ivan's POV.

I was reading a book in the bedroom and the moment, B came in, I closed the book and put it aside.

"Good evening, B." I greeted and she ignored me and dropped her bag.

"Where did you go, B?" I asked.

Oh, God, I can't believe I'm a stalker now. When I left her in the kitchen and went to my study, I became extremely busy and I didn't realize how long I've been there until my phone beeped. I checked it and it was a text from mom, "how was the food?" I left everything I was doing and went to the bedroom but couldn't find her there. So I made my way to the kitchen, and then heard the sound of a car. I rushed to the window and looked outside and saw a car that is not mine, driving out of the compound.

"I'm talking to you, B." I said.

"I don't owe you an answer." She replied, not even looking at me.

This girl has got to be kidding me.

"Hey, Mrs Blair Blake, you owe me an answer."

"Mr Ivan Blake, don't disturb me." She said and walked out of the bedroom.

Oh, God, please help me.
