- What Remains Between Cups.

The coffee maker bubbled softly in the kitchen as Lara held her phone between her shoulder and cheek. She had pulled a notebook from the cupboard and opened it with one hand while holding a steaming mug with the other.

“So, we’re set for Thursday afternoon?” she asked, jotting down the date.

“Yes,” Diana replied on the other end. “The boxes with the new collection arrive tomorrow, and the photographers will be available from four. I also sent you a list of pieces they specifically want you to model.”

“Perfect. And the showroom with the new suppliers on Friday?”

“Confirmed for eleven. The only thing left is Thiago…” she added gently. “Are you taking him out of school that day?”

Lara exhaled slowly, thinking as she sipped her coffee.

“No, I’ll let him go to class. It’s just for a couple of hours. He loves being there, and I don’t want him to feel like everything shifts because of my work. Besides, I promised we’d go see the ducks again this week if he behaves.”
