Demon King Cursed’s Bride.
Memories.
Isadora shook her head, her voice firm. "I won't sleep anywhere else. This is my room too, and I have every right to sleep on this bed."
Devon stopped in his tracks, staring at Isadora with a mix of surprise and annoyance. "Fine," he said, throwing his hands up in defeat. "But don't expect me to be happy about it."
Isadora smiled gratefully, slipping under the covers and making herself comfortable. Devon hesitated for a moment before joining her on the bed, making sure it was well divided with pillows and keeping a respectable distance between them.
..
The morning sun began to rise, and Isadora awoke to find that Devon was nowhere to be seen.
She heard screams coming from somewhere nearby, and it sounded like the person was in terrible pain.
Isadora wanted to check on them, but she hesitated. Before she could step out of her chamber, the maids rushed in, and Daisy spoke up.
"Your highness, we have been assigned to take care of you. We are your personal maids," Daisy said.
Isadora was taken aback. Back at the palace, she was not allowed to have any personal maids. Her parents claimed it was because of her curse, which left her neglected, and so a different maid would help her to bathe and do other necessary things each time. She didn't know why.
Rose looked astonished and just kept staring. Isadora asked her what was wrong, and Rose responded, "It's just that this is the first time in a long time the king has allowed someone in his chamber, except .."
Daisy glared at her motioning her to keep quiet has that person was forbidden to be talked about in the palace but Isadora didn't suspect a thing.
Isadora was shocked. After the maids helped her warm her bath and bathe, she was fully dressed in a soft pink cotton dress that showed the right proportion of her cleavage, and she wore a little makeup yet looked stunning.
"You are beautiful, my queen," Daisy said. "Thank you," Isadora replied.
"Please, my queen, the king is waiting for you at the dinner table," Daisy said.
Isadora elegantly walked to meet Devon, and when she did, the people present couldn't help but stare in admiration. Devon's brothers and his whole family were present there. After exchanging their pleasantries with Isadora, she went to sit beside him.
Lucas, one of Devon's brothers, spoke up, "Queen of Eldrid, I would like to involve you in a conversation if you wouldn't mind."
Isadora innocently nodded, not knowing what was coming her way. Lucas continued, "I hope the king treats you nicely and he isn't a monster towards you. I hope you get to know the darkness that lies inside of him before you know and think twice why you ever married him in the first place because it's clear you deserve someone-"
"Shut up!" Isadora interrupted, shocked at his impertinence. The others were all shocked at her response.
"He treats me with absolute tenderness, and he loves me for who I am, so I would appreciate it if you would mind your own business and not meddle in affairs that do not concern you," Isadora said firmly.
Lucas gave out a mocking laugh and said, "He can never love you"
Isadora was about to speak, but Devon slapped Lucas hard and spoke, "You should learn how to talk to my wife, and you heard her. Shut up!"
Isadora was about to cry as his words hurt her deeply, but Devon swiftly carried her out of the room. She cried her heart out in his chamber, and Devon could do nothing but give her a shoulder to cry on. He was surprised by how she had defended him.
No one had ever done that for him ever since the only one person he loved was gone , not even his so-called father. He had no blood brothers, as they were all his half-brothers, and he never knew his mother.
All he knew was that she was dead, and he was already in love, searching for that one person he swore to never love anyone except her, even if he wanted to love his wife he didn't think it would be possible because once immortals made a promise especially to the phoenix clan they could never break it if they didn't want to die.

"Wait for me, Fiona," Devon shouted as he sprinted after her. A broad smile stretched across his face as he caught up to her and lifted her off the ground, pressing a tender kiss to her soft blue hair.
"Do you think you can run away from me, my love?" he asked. "No matter where you go or how you look, I will always recognize you. You know how much I love you, so it would be impossible for me not to find you."
Fiona teased him, "Are you sure about that? How many days do you think it would take you to find me?"
