Missing?

Isadora returned to her chamber, feeling scared about the way Devon had acted. She needed to calm down before she went mad. She went outside the chamber doors and spotted the guards. "

Please, can you tell me the way to the library? I want to read a novel," she said. One of the guards who heard her speak said, "The king has ordered us not to allow anyone in the library for now."

"But the king specifically told me that I should go to the library. After all, I am his wife," she lied. One of the guards escorted her to the doors of the library. "You can go now," she said, and the guard went back to his post.

Isadora made her way to the library, and she was shocked at the sight she saw. The library was extravagant. She had never been to the library before because her parents forbade her from going anywhere.

The library was made of blue crystals, and chandeliers were hung from the library roof. She made her way inside, and she was already mesmerized by the beauty but stopped in her tracks when she heard some people murmuring. She tried to eavesdrop, but it seemed that these people were good at whispering.

She came closer to the sound and spotted her husband and an old man discussing. "She will be the cause of our downfall," she heard the old man speak. She couldn't help but wonder, was she the one? Who were they talking about? She gasped at the thought of her being the one and, as a result, caught Devon's attention.

Devon slowly walked towards her, and Isadora stepped backwards in an attempt to run, but Devon kept on walking towards her until she backed into one of the bookshelves. "What did you hear?" he spoke, his voice cold and resonant.

"Nothing, your highness," Isadora replied. He heard her heart racing with lies and fear. "I shall not ask you again. Tell me what you heard, or this will be the last day your eyes see," he spoke, this time more devilish.

"I heard nothing," she said. His blue orbs shone in anger, and his eyes turned red. "Very well then, permit me to kill you," he spoke. Her body shook in fear, but without thinking, she came close to him and kissed him on the cheek, hoping he would calm down. Devon's eyes went wide.

"The audacity," he spoke. But instead, a loud crack was heard. What was that? His heart? It couldn't be? Devon looked at her bewildered, and she finally spoke, "I only heard when he said, 'she would be the cause of our downfall.'

Am I the one?" Devon ignored her question and spoke, "Go back to your chamber." And Isadora ran back like never before. This man was crazy. She knew it, but would she make him sane? That was a question she couldn't answer herself.

The old wizard chuckled before speaking. "I see she had finally managed to make your cold heart crack. Soon the ice around you would break, and trust me, you won't be able to resist her."

Devon was angry at himself. He had gone to great measures by making his heart ice over and over again. He endured so much pain so that nobody would be able to break through his heart. Ever since Fiona died, he vowed to love no one but her, but this princess was something else.

Now he was certain that if this princess wasn't the cause of everyone's downfall, she would certainly be the cause of his own downfall.

"There is a way to save your people and find Fiona and not allow her to bring doom to us all," Lazarus said. His eyes grew with anticipation before he spoke, "Name it. Say it. I will certainly do anything to bring Fiona back."

The old man replied, "Make her fall in love with you." Without waiting for the King's response, the old man excused himself and went out. Devon's body froze as he heard the statement. He wanted to kill her, not make her love him.

He returned to his chamber and noticed something was missing. He searched every nook and cranny, but his wife was nowhere to be found.

"She's missing!" he shouted, his voice ringing with firmness. Devon's loud voice was enough to alert the whole palace. Zarius rushed into his chamber and started laughing. "Oh, my baby is worrying," he jokingly said. Devon was in no mood for jokes.

"Zarius, this isn't the right time to do this. Find her immediately." "I won't find her," he said as a large smile appeared on his face.

The demon's eyes turned golden blue before he spoke in a low yet terrifying voice. "Find her for me, or I shall kill you. I swear on my life,

if she doesn't appear, your head will be on my hands."
