CHAPTER 12: RETAIL BUSINESS 2

On this day, Trinity took two taxis to the usual wholesaler where she buys most of her groceries and general items. It was cheaper to buy there than in retail shops. A person must learn to reduce expenses as much as possible, especially when money is a problem.

She wasn’t a rich person yet, so every single cent count to her.

When she got there, she picked a trolley, took out her list and started shopping. While picking what she wanted, she didn’t forget to calculate the amount of money that was needed. That way, she wouldn’t have to return some items at the counter.

Although she didn’t manage to pick everything that she wanted, she picked at least one or two of what was needed. When she earns in the future, she will buy more inventory.

One step at a time.

At the till, she watched as the figure started from zero until B$4,935.99 showed on the monitor.

The five thousand given as funds were nearly exhausted and yet she didn’t have much in her trolley. Life was becoming tough with each passing day. And the value of money wasn’t something special to talk about anymore.

She paid using the card provided by the system and pushed her trolley to the exit. At the door, the security guard checked everything and cleared her.

With the job done, the sun was nearly setting and her stomach was grumbling with hunger. She only ate breakfast and the excitement of starting a business got to her.

When she exited the wholesaler, there were several taxi drivers looking for passengers. One driver approached her and managed to find a ride home.

To go to her neighborhood, she had to pay B$60 and with that paid by card, she nearly spent the B$5,000 provided. After all, using her own money to transport the inventory home would go against the rules. That’s why she made sure that there was some change remaining after buying what she wanted.

It took less than thirty minutes to arrive home and when her neighbors saw her with so many goods, their curiosity was piqued.

“Trinity, did you buy things to send home already?” another curious cat asked, envy written all over her face.

Trinity simply grinned but didn’t reply. That woman liked things so much. One question would lead to an exam question paper. She wanted to know everything about everyone, and yet she was stingy with her own things.

The woman, seeing that she had been ignored, didn’t bother to express her dissatisfaction as she clicked her tongue while going into her house.

Trinity shook her head helplessly. She didn’t have time to be bothered by such characters.

With the help of the taxi driver, the goods were uploaded fast and her small veranda was full of goods, making her neighbors click their tongues in envy again.

When everything was on the veranda, the driver left, and Trinity went to the gate to close it before returning to her house.

She took several trips to bring everything inside the house. Once she was done, she entered the house and locked her door.

Inside the house, she looked at the scattered things with dejection.

“It seems I will need to work late again!” she sighed wryly at the thought of the work needed to arrange everything in such a tiny house.

“But first thing first, let’s cook. I need to pad my tummy before working again!” she eagerly said to herself as she patted her empty stomach.

With that in mind, she started moving with familiarity as she prepared a simple dinner. Rice and cooked tinned beef.

After having dinner, she was full and filled with energy. Ready to work and complete another stage.

In the next two hours, Trinity was busy piling boxes and arranging some of the things in the fixed kitchen cabinets. Some of the drinks and loose ice pops were put in the fridge so that they would be cold. By the time she sells them, people can drink them directly. It was hot, so having something cold to drink was a must.

After exhausting herself, she was tired. She took a warm bath, wore pajamas and threw herself on the bed for some rest.

She couldn’t sleep early as she still felt that it was still early.

Besides, she needed to deal with her two phones.

Trinity put her SIM card in the new phone and set aside the old phone.

Now she didn’t need to be confused between the two phones. She would just use one to be efficient.

With the contacts now on her new phone, she decided to check the system and see if there were any changes.

Under the tycoon profile, the funds had decreased greatly and now just showed B$3.01. That was the money that she hadn’t used yet. It seemed that she would need to find a way to use it, but how?

Anyway, she would think about that in the future. She still has three months to ponder over the matter after all.

After checking that side, she wanted to click on the hedge fund app, but then she saw the matchmaker app with a notification and it got her curious.

This app was the least she was interested in. After all, even if she found her soulmate, could he send her money or improve her life?

She didn’t dare share her private information with a stranger. So even if they talked, she doubted if things would go well. She was a busy person and barely had time to chat. Won’t he be bored with her?

Nonetheless, she wasn’t one to give up on such a chance easily. Who knows when she will be able to chat with her soulmate again?

So, with anticipation written on her face, Trinity clicked on the app and she held her breath as she looked at the new chat, or probably the only chat that she would ever see in her life.

It seems that her soulmate had texted her.

Badum. Badum. Badum.

Her heart thumped crazily. She could hear it drumming in her ears, she was filled with excitement and nervousness at the same time.

‘You are an adult. Just get this over with!’ she cheered herself as she took a deep breath.

After mustering some bit of courage, she clicked on the chat and her eyes sparkled as she saw the contents of the chats.
