CHAPTER 10: BUSINESS FUNDS

“So, here is to mothers near or far,

Whose endless giving knows no cease …….”

Her phone rang, a familiar and wonderful ringing tone sounding in the small apartment woke Trinity up.

She opened her eyes groggily, her eyes darting around in search of her phone. Thankfully, with the phone ringing continuously, she managed to spot it quickly.

Trinity rose from the bed, rolled to the side where the small desk was and stretched her hand to reach for her phone.

After reaching out for the phone, she looked at the caller ID and when she saw the person calling, her eyes narrowed slightly in her head, wondering why this person was calling so early in the morning.

Nonetheless, she still swiped the screen, put it on speaker and a female voice sounded, [Hello, Trinity. I am sorry if I have disturbed you,] the tone apologetic made Trinity’s brows loosen and her anger dissipate a bit.

In a hoarse voice, since she was just waking up, Trinity answered, “It’s not a problem. Did something happen for you to call this early?” her curiosity was still piqued.

Knowing this person, she wasn’t one to call unless there was something going on.

[Hehe, you are indeed spot on. I am with an emergency and I was wondering if you still have money for lending?]

Upon hearing that, all drowsiness vanished. This was a money-making moment, and she didn’t dare remain sleepy at all.

“How much do you want?” she didn’t ask many questions. After all, this person was her customer for a long time.

She never defaulted on her payments, and above all, she was someone who lived next door. So how could she not be eager to lend her some money?

Once a person starts borrowing money, it’s a vicious cycle that never ceases. This woman just paid last week her debt and now she was back again. She didn’t dare teach her customers. After all, it wasn’t like they didn’t know the adverse effects of borrowing money from loan sharks. At least she didn’t consider herself a loan shark. If she was one, she would be destroying people’s families out there and sucking them dry as much as she could.

She was just a foreign lady spinning the small amount of money she had to earn more. And these people were eager to make that happen. So why not let it happen?

[I want B$3,000,] the response came.

When she heard the amount of money, Trinity’s eyes sparkled, but soon dimmed as she remembered that she had invested all the money in the hedge fund.

Investing the money in the hedge fund was actually quite profitable than lending her money to people. However, she couldn’t help but want to maintain this friendship between them. It was impossible to live alone without networking or connecting with other people.

Besides, who mentioned that just because she now has the hedge fund option, she could rely on it alone?

Unfortunately, she didn’t have any money at the moment, so she could only apologetically respond, “I don’t have money right now, but I can have it by tomorrow if it’s not too urgent,” a helpless tone in her voice.

There was some silence on the other side for a while before a helpless response came. [Okay. That can be done, but if you happen to have some by today, then please … please …]

Trinity’s lips curled upwards when she heard that, relief washing over her, and responded, “Sure. If I get something today, I will tell you. Don’t worry.”

[That’s good.]

After chatting briefly, the call ended. And all sleepiness was gone.

She couldn’t go back to sleep anymore.

Since she could no longer go to sleep and was wide awake, she decided to check her system.

She put the old phone away and grabbed the other phone. With the system’s phone in hand, she saw the time, and a smile blossomed on her face.

She had overslept apparently, and it was now around seven in the morning.

Maybe she was too exhausted. That’s why she slept like that and felt that it was too early when the call came in.

As a result, she missed the time when the funds were transferred. However, they should be there, right?

Filled with eagerness to see how much the system had given her, she checked into the tycoon app and was greeted by a familiar and not-so-familiar interface.

Business funds available: B$5,000

Businesses: N/A

Business duration: 3 months

Profit share: 200%

Loss share: -50% + half of funds

N.B: The host can do any kind of business, but the funds and no outside funds should only support the business.

Seeing that Trinity’s eyes were sparkling with happiness. That amount of money was a lot for someone like her. It was enough to start a lucrative business she knew wouldn’t give her a loss.

Who knows how much profit she would have made by the time three months come to an end?

This money could be used to lend to her neighbor. It was business. However, she had something in mind, a business she had been procrastinating to do for a long time. She was too busy and didn’t trust anyone doing it for her. As a result, nothing had happened all this time.

However, now that she was out of work, doing this business might be ideal and she wouldn’t incur a lot of expenses. In the future, her profits might be high as well.

Anticipating getting richer in the future, Trinity woke up and started tidying the house as fast as she could.

Once she was done, she took a shower and changed into casual wear.

She then prepared breakfast, ate it, cleaned the dishes and, once she was done, she sat on the bed with the new phone, which had transformed into a tablet, ready to take some notes.

The sooner she gets the plans jotted down, the sooner she can forge ahead with the plans currently formulating in her head.

Like they said, ‘the early bed catches the worm,’ and she planned to do exactly that.
