Trinity spent the whole day working and cleaning earnestly. The sheer strength she possessed to finish such a job even shocked her.
The shop hadn’t been used for years, so it was dirty.
After finishing, she went to her house to freshen up before visiting Mma Gorata, who asked her to come when she was still cleaning.
When she met the landlady, the other passed to her the newly issued trading license, and she felt grateful for such quick actions.
With the license in hand, she returned to her house with a smile on her face.
She was tired; however, the thought of starting a business officially tomorrow made her excited.
To reward herself for the hard work she did that day, she cooked a bit extravagantly and had a fulfilling meal.
She was tired and knew that she had to sleep early, but before that, she checked the matchmaking app. She didn’t check it during the day since she was busy.
When she got there, she found out that S had responded. She replied to his messages and knowing that there won’t be a response; she logged out and logged into the novel app where her books were.
She wanted to check how they were doing in terms of performance.
The number of collections wasn’t that high on all books, and it made her heart ache.
‘I guess I will have to go through them again once the shop is operating. I can deal with two matters at once and be productive!’ she thought decisively as she recalled the writer app that came with the system.
Once that was done, she sent her mother a long message before retiring for the night.
As for waiting for the daily interest to show up, she didn’t have the energy to wait until midnight. It wasn’t like it would run away.
The next morning, she woke up early, did her house chores, put a pot of porridge on the gas stove and went to take a shower.
Once she was done, the pot of porridge was cooking well.
When she was finished changing, the porridge was ready. However; she wasn’t going to eat it right there.
Trinity started setting aside the goods she wanted to sell in the tuck shop. She didn’t plan to bring everything there but enough inventory that she could carry to and for every single day.
It would make it easy to keep records as well. Once that was done, she started carrying these things to the tuck shop, including a chair and a cooler box with some drinks and ice pops in it.
Once that was done, she carried her phone and porridge with her to the tuck shop.
Trinity opened the front window, and that was the only sign needed to show that the shop was open for business.
After that, she started arranging the goods nicely in a way that they could be seen. They were supposed to flash and attract customers.
That process didn’t take much time honestly, and in less than twenty minutes, everything was in order.
Once she was settled, she sat down and started enjoying her porridge. She didn’t know if there would be customers coming. After all, those in the neighborhood still didn’t know that the shop was operating.
Trinity managed to finish her porridge without interference, showing the shortage of customers. However, she didn’t feel saddened. It was normal. It would be quite scary if they swarmed to her tuck-shop when she hadn’t done any promotion.
After washing her meal box, Trinity transformed the phone into a tablet, making it easier for her to see broadly than when using a phone.
When she was getting ready to start using her writer’s app, Diana arrived and became the first customer to grace her establishment.
“It is looking pretty good!” she complimented sincerely as she looked around.
Getting praised, how could Trinity not be happy?
Trinity prepared another IOU for Diana and transferred the remaining B$1,500 to her. Before Diana left, she bought some fresh milk and snacks, and that became the first income she earned from her new business.
After that, Trinity didn’t see anyone else for the next two hours, at least those who were buying. Her yard neighbors just came to check before going.
Without customers to serve, Trinity logged into the writer’s app. She was curious to see how the app works and if it would help her make the changes she needed to the books.
When she got there, she checked in detail the functions of the app and after studying them for a while; she started on working the first book.
Her completed books and manuscripts were saved online, so all she needed to do was import the document. Once it was imported into the app, she would start working on it, chapter by chapter.
Thankfully, her books were all short, with the longest being one hundred and fifty. And for that book, it still was showing as ongoing although she completed writing it in November.
While the changes and improvement in quality might not work for those who already read the story, it would attract new readers. As long as they love the books, they would refer them to their peers and so forth.
With that in mind, she started working earnestly. Trinity realized that her thoughts regarding how the app worked were different from how she imagined it. Rather than the app working on its own, paraphrasing to add some depth to the content, it simply showed where it didn’t make sense.
Where there were grammatical issues, it would point and provide the correct article, punctuation, or spelling.
The app provided several suggestions, and she was forced to solve those issues in her own way. Once she dealt with it, the app would assess the changes and give a rating. In other words, the app was forcing her to rewrite, however; she learnt quite a lot in the process. So, she took this revamping session very seriously.
By the time the second customer arrived, an hour had passed.
“Oh! I didn’t know that the shop was open!” the male customer exclaimed as he looked around, astonishment in his eyes.
Trinity set aside her tablet as she stood on her feet, a smile on her face as she responded, “We just opened today. How may I help you?” her tone was very polite and welcoming.
“Um. Do you have cigarettes and energy drinks?” he asked as he looked around the shop.
Trinity nodded and gave the man the prices. When he heard them, he nodded before ordering what he wanted while passing a B$20 to her.
Trinity accepted the note and gave the man what he wanted. When she was about to look for change, which she didn’t have at the moment, the man bought some sweets for the kids using the change. Once his purchase was done, the man left and promised to come again next time.
With that promise, Trinity hoped that he wouldn’t forget it. She was quite happy with the way things were going.
Anyway, with the customer gone, she returned to her writing assignment.
