CHAPTER 18: NEW YEAR (2080)

Days flew very fast and before she knew it, it was New Year’s Eve.

The past week had been full of ups and downs. With the majority of the people going back to their home villages for the holidays, business was a bit low. However, it was still better than not earning a single thing.

There was that one tradition that literally everyone all over the globe followed. Waiting until midnight to witness the dawn of a new year.

Just like everyone else, Trinity looked forward to the new year. She prayed that 2080 would be better than the previous years. With the tycoon system accompanying her, she was filled with confidence.

A new year represent new possibilities, new challenges and new everything.

However, before that happen, Trinity had to look at what she has first and see where it would go.

So, while others were busy dancing to music, and partying like crazy. She was locked up in her room, sitting on the bed with her favorite music playing and the tablet in hand.

To live diligently and not go astray, Trinity was someone who always plan ahead. A person must have a long-term plan, several options lest things doesn’t go well and above all budget.

She wasn’t that rich yet to the extent that she would swipe her card without flinching. Every single cent that she spends, affect her badly. Until she reaches that stage, she needed to be serious with her planning.

So that was exactly what she was doing that evening as she waited for the new year to dawn on her.

Most of the plans in one’s life always involve money. So, she started there, checking how much funds she currently have and the like.

To have a good grasp of that, she clicked on the hedge fund app which was very helpful when it comes to summarizing her finances.

Capital invested: B$88,223.44

Available funds: B$0

Daily interest: 8%

Interest earned: B$7,057.90

The daily interest had been issued and it was quite a lot compared to the interest she was earning when she first started.

If she were to tell anyone that she earned more than seven thousand without doing anything, no one would believe her but she didn’t need to convince anyone or even let the matter spill. This was a secret that she planned to keep for life unless something happens.

She had eighty-eight thousand which couldn’t be taken out for now due to the investment restrictions imposed on her but she didn’t feel her heart ache because of that.

If possible, she wanted the funds to exceed a million. After all, the more money she invests, the more she earned.

Knowing the money that she had, Trinity started getting busy.

She usually pays the rent when the new month start, so the interest earned for that day couldn’t be invested rashly. She had some use for it.

She tallied down her January expenses excluding anything to do with the shop business she was running. With all the numbers tabulated, she set aside B$3,000. And that was enough for rent, utilities, food and other miscellaneous expenses that might rise.

After doing so, she realized that she didn’t have anything else she wanted to use the money for. So, she decisively invested the remaining interest totaling the whole funds to B$92,281.34.

She looked forward to earning more interest in the future.

After dealing with that, she started checking on the shop’s books. Although she had been operating the shop for nearly three weeks, she had recouped the capital she invested in the business.

Business funds available: B$5,000

Businesses: Tuck shop

Business duration: 3 months

Profit share: 200%

Loss share: -50% + half of funds

Current Profit/Loss: B$2,546

When dealing with the system, she barely needed to calculate the accounts by herself as the system would automatically do so for her.

Of course, to get the numbers correct, she could also do her own calculations, but since she was dealing with the business alone, there was no need to doubt herself.

It was a good thing that she made a profit. When the three months deadline end, she was confident that she would be having more than this time.

The inventory for the tuck shop was plenty and it would take weeks before she could replenish it.

With everything sorted out, Trinity happily looked forward to the double profit share when the whole thing comes to an end.

After dealing with that, she started jotting down the plans for the new year and the first on the list was hiring an assistant.

She had wanted badly to save money and run the tuck shop on her own. However, she realized a major problem while doing so.

Her passion for writing, which was another source of income for her was getting affected.

She hadn’t written any new chapters in December. Even the speed of editing was very slow since she was mostly disturbed while working on her work.

If she were to concentrate on her writing since that was the other thing that she could do, before she returns home, she might finish her ongoing book and a new book. Now that she had a system that could help her, she had to take advantage of that and make something good out of it.

Hiring someone wasn’t that expensive. She would just pay B$1,000. She didn’t have to be stingy.

She had everything thought out and seeing that it made sense, she put that on the agenda.

She also had to find a city to live when she returns to her home country. She didn’t plan to live in the home village. If she lives there, she won’t be able to run a business. She didn’t know how much capital funds she would be given next time.

If she wanted to make use of the funds given, then settling down in a city would be of the best.

So, she spent a very long time searching for a suitable city and comparing which one would be best for her and while doing so, the fireworks started exploding outside, making her halt her actions.

She checked the time and a smile blossomed on her face.

“Its 2080 already!” she smilingly chuckled feeling a bit melancholic.

Thinking about the fireworks outside, she climbed down the bed and decided to check them for a bit.

When she went outside, the few tenants remaining in the yard were all watching the night sky filled with colorful fireworks display with interest.

“Happy New Year!”

“Happy New Year!”

It was a tradition to wish everyone that when a new year arrives. Everyone was very enthusiastic. The yard was filled with laughter and blessings.

Trinity stayed outside with others for ten minutes or so before the displays started fading.

Knowing that there won’t be anything interesting to watch anymore, she bid everyone goodbye and goodnight before entering the house again.

She locked the door, put all the safety locks on before returning to the bed, completely unaware of the huge surprise that awaited her.
