She stared at me, confusion etched across her face. For this, her punishment would be to burn to ashes right here and now.

I walked closer, feeling my body heat up with each step. My eyes had already changed. The students were staring, some running out, knowing what I was about to do to this b*tch.

Just as I was about to touch her and end it right there, a hand suddenly grabbed my arm, stopping me in my tracks. I looked up to see Clyde. Just when I was about to speak, Tyson came and grabbed my other arm, and together they dragged me out of the cafeteria and into an empty hallway.

"What the hell, guys? Why did you do that?" I asked, frustration bubbling inside me. They all stood silent, arms crossed over their chests.

"What's wrong? Have you suddenly gone deaf?" I yelled, and in that moment, my body caught fire.

"We only did what we did to protect you, Princess," Clyde said calmly.

"And how is that protecting me?" I shot back.

"If we hadn't stopped you, you would have killed her and exposed us all." Realization washed over me as my body returned to normal.

"I didn't realize…"

"We know. You and your father are well-known for your temper."

Leaning against the lockers with a sigh, I acknowledged I needed to be more careful.

"It's okay, Princess. Anything for a friend."

"Now let's go; I need fresh air to cool down."

"Right this way."

We left for the garden and spent the rest of lunch there.

School was actually great… well, not fully because that b*tch kept getting on my nerves. She was lucky I didn't kill her.

"Hi sweetie! How was school?" Jeremy's mom asked as I entered their home.

"It was great… I enjoyed it very much," I replied with a smile.

"And was Jeremy nice to you?" she asked, glancing at Jeremy, who did nothing but stare back.

"He was... nice." She looked at me again, then back at him with raised eyebrows.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Bye... I'm gone," Jeremy said abruptly before leaving the room.

"Well, I'm going to my room; I have tons of homework," I announced.

"Okay honey; you do that. I'll be in the office," his mom replied.

I waved goodbye and headed to my room.

The next day arrived, and it was time for school again. I chose a t-shirt with blue floral jeans and pink sneakers, tying my hair into two messy buns.

Feeling good about myself, I left the house and met up with Jeremy in the living room. He looked up at me and appeared momentarily mesmerized—definitely drooling.

"You know… you look cute when you drool over me," I teased with a smirk as he snapped back to reality.

"I wasn't drooling."

"Yeah, whatever Mr. Pompous."

He scoffed and headed out to his car. We arrived at school together; he walked me to class while I kept teasing him playfully.

Suddenly, a hand touched my shoulder from behind. Instinct kicked in—I grabbed the hand and flipped whoever it was hard onto the floor with a thud that echoed through the cafeteria.

Everyone turned their heads toward us immediately. Ever since becoming a hybrid, my father had brutally trained me for who knows what; I've got scars on my body—some faded and some not—showing what I've endured and how strong I've become. My hands are legally considered weapons; nobody can beat me in hand-to-hand combat—I'm perfect… the perfect weapon.

"ARGH!" The person winced in pain as I took a closer look at him and realized who it was.

"ETHAN!" I called his name loudly before rushing over to him.
