The next day, I woke up feeling a bit guilty about borrowing Jeremy's headphones and then running off with them. I mean, it was just a little prank, right? But still, I didn't want to be that friend who takes things and doesn't give them back.
After breakfast, I decided to text him.
"Hey, Mr. Pompous! Hope you're not too grumpy today 😜 Just wanted to let you know I still have your headphones! But I might need them for a little while longer…"
I waited anxiously for a reply, half-expecting him to be annoyed. But then again, it was all in good fun!
A few minutes later, my phone buzzed.
"You're lucky I'm in a good mood today. Just don't break them or else 😉"
I chuckled at his response. Maybe he wasn't so grumpy after all!
Later that day, I decided to go out and grab some snacks. As I walked around the campus, I couldn't help but think about my old friends—Crystal, Luka, Dante, and Hunter. It felt strange not having them around to share these moments with me.
As I wandered through the campus café, I spotted some familiar faces laughing together at a table. My heart sank a little; it was hard not to miss those carefree days spent with them.
But then again, I had Jeremy now… kind of. Maybe we could make new memories together?
When I got back to his room later that day, he was still on his laptop, looking somewhat focused.
"Hey," I said as I plopped down on the bed beside him.
"Back already? Did you bring my headphones?" he asked without looking up.
"Of course! But… can we just hang out for a bit? You know, before I give them back?"
He finally looked at me and raised an eyebrow. "What do you want to do?"
I thought for a moment and then grinned mischievously. "How about a movie marathon? We can watch all those cheesy rom-coms you secretly love."
He groaned but couldn't hide the smirk on his face. "Fine, but only if you promise to bring me snacks."
"Deal!"

I got up and headed for the shower. Damn, I really didn't feel like school today. I put on my navy blue trousers, a t-shirt, and a hoodie, topped off with a black beanie to hold my hair in place.
When I got downstairs, I was surprised to see Luna already there, eating breakfast. She looked weak and in pain.
"Morning," I said, concerned.
"Luna, are you okay? You don't need to go to school if you're not well, you know."
"No, no, I'm fine. Just... a bit dizzy, that's all."
"Luna, I—"
She cut me off. "I'm fine, Jeremy." That tone told me something was definitely wrong. Whenever she called me by my name like that, it meant trouble.
"Huh... are you sure?"
"Yes, I'll be fine."
We finished eating and headed to the car.
The drive was silent. What's wrong with Luna today?
"Hey, I'm going... bye," she said hurriedly as she left the car.
I hope she's okay. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

I could feel myself fading fast. Gosh, I had forgotten—vampires need blood to live. But one thing is for sure: we don't live forever; we can die.
When a vampire goes without blood, we go through several phases: our powers spiral out of control, we become weak and in pain—and then there's the last stage. No vampire wants to reach that point; it turns us into real monsters.
Right now, I was at stage two—feeling weak and in pain everywhere.
I managed to get to class; people were talking to me, but I couldn't respond. I felt terrible.

Lunchtime came around, and I felt worse than ever. I sat down at a table but couldn't even focus on what everyone was saying.
"Luna, are you okay?" Tyson asked me gently, but I didn't reply.
He and Clyde could tell something was seriously wrong.
"Luna, you should go home," Tyson urged.
I shook my head stubbornly. "No, I'm good."
"Luna, you're obviously not feeling well. Let me take you home," Jeremy offered. Reluctantly, I agreed.
As we walked through the empty school hall, my headache intensified. Suddenly feeling super dizzy, the next thing I knew—I was on the ground.
"LUNA!" was the last thing I heard before everything went black.

I woke up with a pounding headache and looked around my room in confusion. How did I get here? The last thing I remembered was being at school.
It was night already! Glancing at my watch confirmed it—9 PM! Had I been out for that long?
I noticed that I was in my pajamas; they must have changed me while I was unconscious. But then pain shot through my chest.
The door swung open abruptly as Jeremy came in—shirtless.
"Luna! You're awake!"
"I'm fine," I said sharply, trying to get him to leave.
He was too stubborn for that.
I felt an overwhelming urge to bite him; his heartbeat echoed in my ears as his blood coursed through his veins. He had to leave—I couldn't hurt him; I'd never forgive myself.
He reached out to help me again but I slapped his hand away.
"Luna! Let me help you!"
"No!"
"What? Why?"
"Jeremy, just leave my room!" My voice rose with desperation.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked softly as tears streamed down my face. This hurt me more than it hurt him.
"I'm asking you to go!"
"Lu—"
I cut him off again. "LEAVE!"
"FINE! If that's what you want..." he snapped before turning around to walk away.
The wind picked up in my room as he moved past me; it brushed against his neck and filled my senses with his intoxicating scent. In an instant—I snapped.
Looking at my hands, they appeared different—a wicked grin spread across my face as instincts took over.

As I made to leave her room in frustration—what was wrong with her? Couldn't she see that I cared? She was my friend!
But before I could take another step, she appeared in front of me in a flash—how did she move so fast?
"Luna! How did you get here so quickly?"
She kept her head down in silence.
"I'm leaving," I said firmly but she remained mute.
Then she faced me suddenly; her eyes had changed color—a shocking transformation that sent chills down my spine.
I reached out instinctively but she stopped me with a fierce grip on my hand—too strong for someone who had just been fainting moments ago.
"Lu…" My words were cut off when her hand found its way to my neck—a split second later and she pushed me down hard onto the floor before straddling over me.
"LUNA!" My voice broke as panic surged through me; she didn't respond but held me down effortlessly despite my struggles against her newfound strength.
Leaning closer to whisper in my ear sent shivers throughout my body: "I'm sorry."
Before I could process her words or respond at all—I felt sharp pain pierce through my neck followed by her lips pressing against my skin as she bit into me!
Screaming in agony, I tried desperately to push her off—but she didn't budge at all. With each passing moment, darkness enveloped me as strength drained from my body until everything faded away...
