When It Rains… It Pours Trouble!

The sky was a traitor.

One second, it was fine. The next, it was dumping buckets of rain like some cosmic prank.

Yuki and I bolted for cover, but in a cruel twist of fate, the nearest safe spot was… her apartment.

"Just get inside, loser!" she snapped, pulling me in before we got drenched any further.

I barely had time to process that I was in Yuki Hayasaka's apartment. It was cozy—minimalistic but stylish. Not too messy, not too clean.

It smelled like her.

That should not have been the first thing I noticed.

She tossed me a towel and grabbed one for herself, rubbing her hair dry. "Ugh, what the hell? The weather report said no rain today!"

I shrugged. "Guess the weather hates you."

She glared. "Shut up."

We both stood there, towels over our heads, just… staring. The air felt different. Thicker. Like something was shifting between us.

I wasn't sure who moved first. Maybe it was both of us. But suddenly, we were close—too close.

Her golden eyes locked onto mine, her breath a little unsteady.

I knew this was stupid. I knew this was dangerous.

But when she leaned in, I didn't stop her.

And when our lips met, I sure as hell didn't pull away.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew we hadn't closed the door.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew this was a bad idea.

But right now? Right now, the only thing that existed was her.

She was fire and lightning all at once—soft but demanding, like she was making up for lost time. My hands found her waist, and she pulled me deeper into the kiss, her fingers tangled in my hair.

Before I knew it, we were in her bedroom.

Breathless.

Hearts pounding.

Hands wandering.

This was insane. This was beyond insane.

But neither of us wanted to stop.

Until—

"YUKI?!"

The door slammed open.

We froze.

And standing there, drenched from the rain, looking absolutely furious—

Was a guy.

A guy I didn't recognize.

A guy who very clearly wasn't just a friend.

"What the hell is this?!" he shouted, his voice shaking with anger.

Yuki's body went rigid, her face drained of color. "T-Toru…?"

Toru.

Oh. Oh, crap.

She had a boyfriend?!

I felt my stomach drop to the center of the Earth.

I was dead. This was it. Game over.

And Yuki… Yuki had been cheating. With me.

Her boyfriend's fists clenched, his knuckles turning white.

"Explain. Now."

But Yuki?

She didn't say a word.

She just stared at the ground, biting her lip—like she didn't even know what to say.

And that silence?

That silence made everything so much worse.
