Strategy games were always Arthur Corioli's refuge. Behind his screens, the socially awkward streamer is a tactical genius. In real life? He barely leaves his apartment.
Then his computer crashes, and everything changes. A single program remains: "Zero Latency." The interface feels familiar—missions, resource management, a global map. The objective is clear, stop an Alien threat from conquering earth.
But is it just a game?
Follow Arthur as he struggles with the heavy responsibility of leading his forces against an ever evolving enemy, deal with grief and impostor syndrome.
Inspired by games such as X-COM, Phoenix Point, and Plenty of novels.
Honestly, just wow 🤔. I know I give good reviews to a lot of books, and I still think they deserve them. But this one so far has me wishing I could give bonus stars. I really can't think of another story that is on this ones level, at least in my opinion. The descriptions of the scenes are near perfect. You can visualize exactually what's happening in a way that I dare say I haven't been able to do before on this platform. There are only 18 chapters so far as of this review, but the pacing so far has been absolutely superb, the characters are all unique and the author has done a fabulous job of making even the temporary characters that are not revisited as much has personality that the mcs of other stories would kill for. The premise of the story is extremely unique and executed very well. The main characters choices make sense, and he seems like a tactician who is believable, unlike some others in this genre. He still does make mistakes, he isnt perfect, and that is great. it adds a serious sense of risk that I am loving. Absolutely adding this to my library and watching like a hawk for new chapters. Great job, Author.
Shameless routine self review. Who will like this novel: People who played games such as x-com, people that enjoy strategy, action, sci-fi and a little bit of horror/thriller. People who won't like this novel: Harem fans, gooners. But seriously, I'm trying to write a decent defend earth against impossible odds, and I hope you'll enjoy it.
