A Breeze of Knowledge

George popped another pill into his mouth, feeling the rush of energy course through his body as he continued cultivating. However, after thirty minutes, he paused, sensing that his mana reserves had stabilized for now. He glanced around the room, his sharp eyes scanning his surroundings.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the book his mother had left on the bed earlier. His curiosity piqued, and he instinctively reached out with his tiny hands. He willed it toward him, hoping to use magic to bring it closer.

Nothing happened.

Frowning, he concentrated harder. Wind—he needed wind. He visualized a gentle breeze, picturing it flowing from his fingertips toward the book. A flicker of energy responded, but it wasn't enough. George gritted his teeth and kept trying, refining his control over the mana within him.

Minutes turned into an hour as he struggled to summon even the faintest gust. Then, finally, a familiar chime echoed in his mind.

[Congratulations! You have learned 0-Star Wind Magic.]

A small smirk formed on George's lips. That was progress.

Now that he had the skill, it was time to test it. He focused on the book again, his tiny hands moving ever so slightly as he willed a breeze to push it toward him. It wobbled, resisting at first, but then, with a final push, it tipped over and slid into his crib.

George exhaled. That had taken more effort than expected.

Still, his excitement didn't wane. Using wind magic, he carefully pried the book open, its aged pages rustling softly. Then, summoning another small current of wind, he propped himself up into a sitting position.

Now upright, he flipped through the pages using his newfound control over the element, scanning the contents with growing intrigue.

The book detailed information about the land he was in.

[Valen Country]—a small nation located on the southern continent of the world. While not a major power, it was known for its vast farmlands, abundant natural resources, and relatively stable governance.

[Waterdew Village]—his current home, was a peaceful settlement near the borders of Valen Country. It was primarily an agricultural village, home to a few hundred people. However, due to its proximity to wildlands, it wasn't uncommon for adventurers and mercenaries to pass through.

Beyond the country, there were mentions of larger empires and great sects, but the book's focus remained local, highlighting historical events, cultural practices, and even myths about the surrounding regions.

George absorbed the information, committing it to memory. This was the first real clue about the world he had been reincarnated into. And if this tiny village was just a small piece of the larger puzzle, he couldn't wait to learn more.

For now, though, he continued flipping through the pages, determined to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
