Vernon
The truck was kicking up a ton of dust in the air, I could see it in the rearview mirror. I was feeling a little bit tired before all this, but now when I turned my wheels and sped out of the rest stop without paying, my heart was beating so fast like I drank a gallon of expresso.
‘They are not just normal human, they are the hunters.'
Diego spoke for the first time in a long time. He had been weak since we got wolfsbaned.
‘Damn, what were they doing here? As far as I know, this is still werewolf territory.'
‘I don't know, but I know you have more problems at hand now.'
Yep, that was really helpful.
We got out of there so fast that I didn't even have time to check on Shannon.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"No... I'm fine. But they weren't werewolves, right?"
"Yes, and they were hunters."
"What? What were the hunters doing here? Were they sent by them?"
"I don't know. But I know we gotta hurry up now."
