EMILY'S POV
She groaned in pain as I pressed harder against her bone. “Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on me?” I sneered in her face, my eyes cold and emotionless.
“Let go of my daughter right now!.” Regina called out, stepping between us.
Lucy rushes towards me trying to fight back but before she can touch me, James is already by my side placing his body on us.
“That’s enough!’ James growled and immediately the room fell silent. His gaze was cold as he stared at Lucy and her mother Regina.
He took a few steps towards them, his body burning with anger. “If either of you dares to anger the Alpha again, I will personally see to it that both of you get imprisoned to death, this pack will not accept your rebellion. “
Lucy's eyes widened with fear as she stared up at him, stepping back as her face paled. Yet, her eyes were still clouded in fury as she stared at me.
“You have no right to call yourself the Alpha of this pack. You are not capable of the position anyway, you have been gone for so many years.” She snapped at me.
I glared at her, walking past James, and standing close to her till she could feel the Alpha aura emanating from my body. She tried hard to resist the power but she broke her gaze, her eyes lowering in respect.
“I am the new Alpha of the Blackstone pack.” I sneered.
Lucy flinched from the waves of power as the room watched in awe. The tension in the atmosphere heightened as all the pack members felt my power.
The crowd gasped as they cowered in respect.
” You will respect me as your Alpha,” I said, then my voice dripped with authority and power. “Or you will leave this pack and die.”
The room was cast in silence as I stared at them waiting for their decision and after a moment. My wicked step-sister and even my devilish stepmother kept silent as they cowered in my presence. There was no doubt now that I was the Alpha.
James came forward, frowning as he looked down at them. "Leave. Now. " He commanded.
Lucy looked like she wanted to rebel against his commands but she finally turned away, glancing at me in anger. They both stormed out walking through the hall towards the double doors.
Lucy looked at Christian her eyes filled with betrayal and anger. “Christian, please don't let her do this” she begged.
But Christian merely ignored her like he didn't hear a thing she said as he stared at me. His eyes were fixed on me, multiplying unreadable emotions in his eyes as I tried to avoid his gaze.
When Lucy and Regina finally left the hall, the door swinging hard behind them, I let out a deep breath of relief I didn't know I was holding.
The pack members were still murmuring and whispering but there was a huge difference in the room. Now they knew who the real Alpha was without doubt.
But as I felt Christian's heated gazes on me, I realised this wasn't the end. This confrontation was just the beginning, and there were so many things which were left unsaid and unspoken – about the past, about the children, and the future.
CHRISTIANS POV
I watched in total confusion as the fight played out in front of me
My eyes froze on Emily as she stood up for herself. Her face filled with rage as she threw Lucy's hand off her.
She was completely different from my mate and the woman I married five years ago. She was now strong and confident as she faced Lucy and Regina, her eyes blazing with fire.
The Emily I remembered would have cowered to them, her head low and her eyes filled with tears.
But now She faced them with her head held high looking them straight in the eyes.
I couldn't stop the strange sense of pride I felt as I watched her defend herself. She was a different woman now and I was curious about this new Emily.
However, Lucy's expression was wild and hysterical as she stared at Emily with widened eyes filled with rage
The way she was acting, the expression on her face—she was not the calm, docile woman I wanted to marry; she seemed feral, almost rabid.
“Lucy, calm down” I called out across the hall trying to get her to relax. She turned back to me and for a second I couldn't recognize her.
The calmness and elegance I had loved in her had disappeared and was replaced by pure anger and hatred.
She glared at me with rage as her chest heaved with her laboured breathing.
“She wants to strip us of everything, Christian!” Lucy shouted. “I will not calm down until she leaves this place and disappears from our lives!” She screamed, her face tainted with rage.
My eyes met with Emily, her face calm even as she faced them with no sign of fear in her eyes.
For a moment, I couldn't help but imagine how my life would have been if I never betrayed her and we were still mated and if those children were mine.
An unreadable feeling rushed through me as I thought of the past, and how things ended between us. The memory awoke a feeling deep in me, something that I hadn't thought about in a long time.
“Lucy, stop this,” I ordered in a stern voice. “This is not the right time or the appropriate place for this.”
“Christian, cannot you see what she is doing?” Lucy exclaimed. “Look, she is out to destroy us! You can't let her do that!”
“Enough! Lucy,” I said firmly “We’ll deal with this later.” I pulled her away trying to stop her from embarrassing herself further.
Lucy looked at me, anger and disappointment in her eyes that I wasn't supporting her. But I could care about how she felt right now. I couldn't stop thinking about Emily and her new personality.
